How does a Xiaomi smart Mi air purifier really work?
Air purifiers work in a number of ways, but quite commonly the purification mechanism is based on oppositely charged metal plates.
Place the entire unit in an inconspicuous location and let air naturally circulate through it.
As the air passes over the charged plates, any dust or spore or other floating debris is captured by the electrostatic charge, much like salt crystals being attracted to a statically-charged comb.

HEPA filter ( high-efficiency particulate air filter ) has many applications, including medical facilities, automobiles, aircraft and home use.
The filter must satisfy certain standards of efficiency such as those set by the United States Department of Energy ( DOE ).
To qualify as HEPA by US government standards, an air filter must be able to remove ( from the air that passes through it) the 99.97% of particles with a size of 0.3µm in diameter.
Four independent ducts to clear the air
The four independent air ducts are an aerodynamic solution to achieve large indoor circulation.
The ducts are aligned with the airflow direction and gradually narrow in to increase airflow speed.
At maximum power, they expel as much as 10.000 liters of air per minute, letting air circulate throughout the entire room.
