How to connect phone to TV? Based purely on the feature set, the Anycast M2 Dongle TV Stick is one of most powerful Miracast devices on the market. However, recently, we received many technical queries from our customers, with the most common being:

► Why can I not connect my Android/iOS smartphone to my TV/PC with the dongle?

► Why can my phone not receive a WiFi signal from the Anycast M2?

► Why is my Anycast M2 not working as it should?

Looking into the issue, our technical team discovered that the main cause for all three issues above was incorrectly connecting the TV stick to their device (e.g. phone or display). Connect Anycast M2 to Android Phone

Compared with iOS devices, connect the Anycast M2 to Android device is much easier.

Step 1:

Prepare a 5V and ≥1A output power adapter, and remove the paired HDMI cable from the package box if you only want to connect your phone to an HDMI port supported the television. Connecting to a desktop computer screen requires an extra USB HDMI converter/cable.

Step 2:

Plug both connectors of the USB HDMI cable into the Anycast M2 TV stick and the provided power adapter. Plug the power adapter into a power socket.

Step 3:

Switch on your television and set the signal the input source to HDMI.

Step 4:

Connect the Anycast M2 to the display.

• Connect the Anycast M2 directly to your television's HDMI port.

• For a desktop PC's screen, you will require a USB HDMI converter/cable – insert the USB end to the PC screen's USB port (for power) and connect the Anycast M2 to the HDMI port of the converter.

The screen should show the following photo which means the TV stick has been successfully connected to the TV. Upon first connection, the SSID (AnyCast-xxx) and PSK (password) of the public wireless signal are listed on the top center of the display.

Step 5:

Press the mode switch button once on the Anycast M2 to switch to Android mode.

Step 6:

Launch your Android phone (we use the Xiaomi Mi5 as the example here), enter the Settings, tap the More option under the NETWORK bar, and then choose Wireless display in the next step. Toggle the feature on to active it. You should see the AnyCast-xxx option, tap it to connect (you’re not required to input the PSK). The Anycast M2 device will connect your Android device to the TV.

Now your Android phone screen should be mirrored on the TV display. The connection is complete! Savor the moment!

Connect the Anycast M2 to your iPhone

To cast your iPhone screen on a big display, you need to make sure both the Anycast M2 TV stick and the iPhone are connected to the same WiFi network.

Step 5:

Look at the top right of the TV display, the Phone - Anycast M2 - WiFi router connection status is presented there. "x" means a device is not connected.

Step 6:

Open your iPhone and enter Settings - WLAN, choose the corresponding WiFi SSID AnyCast-xxx to connect to, and input the device PSK/password. Wait for a moment for your iPhone to connect to the Anyscreen M2 dongle. Once the step is successful, the "x" will disappear from the TV screen.

Step 7:

Swipe up on your iPhone from the bottom of the screen to show the shortcut menu. Tap the Airplay Mirroring option to turn on this feature, tap the Anycast M2 device to connect to it.

Your iPhone screen will now be mirrored on the large display. Now you can play and cast local content, including photos, or just to show any other operations on the big screen.

But if you want to explore the online source or play an online video etc. with WiFi, not cellular data, you need to perform the following WiFi internet connection steps.

Step 1:

Close the Airplay feature on your iPhone. The TV screen will revert to the following condition.

Step 2:

Go to the iPhone's Home screen, and launch the Safari browser, and enter the IP address 192.168.203.1 into the address bar - this is the same IP shown on the top center of the AnyCast screen.

Step 3:

The Anycast M2's setting interface will be shown on your phone display. Tap the Internet option, connect to your current WiFi SSID, input the password, and click OK to proceed. After a few moments, the "x" between the Anycast M2 device and WiFi router on the TV screen will disappear to show they have connected.

Step 4:

Press the Home button on the iPhone and swipe up from the bottom to show the shortcut menu. Select the Airplay Mirroring feature again and connect to the AnyCast-xxx, the iPhone screen will be mirrored to the TV display again.

You can now perform any internet-related operation on your iPhone: play an online video, playing a game, and so on. All the operations will be mirrored on the big screen for a much more immersive multimedia experience.

Notes:

• Your iOS device will need the Anycast M2 password (PSK) to connect. The password is randomized for different displays. The PSK will appear once you’ve connected the dongle to the display.

• For Window 8 notebooks, you may be required to enter the WPS PIN, the default PIN is 12345670.

• Videos on some encrypted streaming websites or apps (such as Netflix) cannot be mirrored on another screen.

• A standard computer USB port is unlikely to provide sufficient power for the Anycast M2; if you cannot locate the wireless signal, use the 5V ≥1A power adapter.

• You can download the video guide on how to connect your phone screen to a TV screen here.
