Screen & Display

● Make sure your finger is not wet, otherwise sure the screen cannot detect your finger and won't react to your operation.

● If it only happens when charging, maybe the electricity influences the touch reaction, which is a hardware issue. Disconnect the power charger then you can normally use the screen.

● Once there are too many junk caches storing in the phone, the phone system speed will be slowed down, therefore, the touch reaction will be influenced as well. So use your phone management application or a third party phone management app to clean these junk files.

● System error. You can try to reset the phone.

● If your phone has been dropped on the floor hard before, the circuit inside the phone may be broken. In this situation, just take it to a phone fixing store to reconnect the circuit.

● If all these ways cannot solve this matter, we can confirm that the touch screen is damaged. So you can directly take it to a local phone repair center for a fixing, but the best way is to contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory to exchange an original screen.

● Maybe the screen is stuck because of some system errors or RAM overuse. Please wait for a while, or directly reboot your phone.

● If this problem still happens after the reboot. The only way is to reset the phone though the Recovery mode.

● But if the factory reset cannot save your phone from this problem, try to flash the phone's ROM. Download the ROM from our blog to flash it. If you don't know how to operate, you can ask help from the professional phone fixing center staff or search the phone flash video from YouTube. Or contact the after-sales service for help.

It happens may due to the system errors like system crash or incompatibility issue. Do not launch too many applications at the same time, which may lead the system crash.

● Simply reboot your phone, if the phone cannot be shut off, just long pressing the phone's Power button.

● If the problem continuously happens later, that might be an application incompatibility issue. Uninstall the recently installed application to test whether the phone works normally again.

Reset the phone to remove all the system reasons.

● Flash the phone, it's the last way to solve this problem. Download the ROM from our blog to flash it. If you don't know how to operate, you can ask help from the professional phone fixing center staff or search the phone flash video from YouTube. Or contact the after-sales service for help.

● Check whether your finger is wet when touch the buttons, the water will reduce the touch buttons' reaction.

● Wipe the buttons / touch screen with a clean cloth to remove any obstacles or dirt which may influence the buttons touch reaction.

● Or you can try to reset your phone if the reboot makes no sense. Since the buttons don't work, so you cannot reset it in the phone system. So try to use the Recovery mode to reset it.

● But if the factory reset cannot not be operated or cannot save your phone from this problem, try to flash the phone's ROM. Download the ROM from our blog to flash it. ● If all the methods cannot solve the problem, then the hardware might be broken, we suggest you to contact the after-sale service to send it back to the factory to repair and exchange the damaged components.

● It may be caused by some system errors. Simply reboot your phone. If you cannot powered it off. Long press the Power button for 30 seconds to force it to shut off. Then power on it to check whether the display turns to normal.

● If not, please reset your phone.

If you don't know how to operate, you can ask help from the professional phone fixing center staff or search the phone flash video from YouTube. Or contact the after-sales service for help.

● Have your phone dropped on the floor hardly before? If yes, the screen flashing may be caused by the LCD hardware bad contact because of the hard shake, or maybe the flexible flat cable / LED screen IC chip is broken. You cannot deal with this issue yourself, so please take it to a phone fixing to repair or hand it to the after-sales service, they will give you a safe and satisfied solution.

● If you're suggested to exchange some core component or the screen, you'd better to contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for exchanging the original ones.

It could be a simple problem but also could be a serious problem.

● It's simple because maybe it's just because the battery power has run out, simply charge it with its original USB charger for at least 10 minutes to solve this matter.

If this reason is excluded, then the reason should be a system error, application incompatibility, or hardware damage. Let's check!

● Long press the phone's Power button for 8 to 10 seconds to check whether the phone could be launched.

● If not, enter the phone's Recovery mode at the power off state to recover / reset the phone.

● If this problem only happens when you launch a specific application on your phone. It must be caused by the application incompatibility. Do not install that app anymore.

The spot belongs to the screen manufacture technology problem. If the spot number is under three, it's in the international normal scope, which won't influence the phone's normal use.

● You can try to use some screen fixing application to repair it, such as Dead Pixel Detect and Fix.

● But if the spot number is too many, please contact the after-sales service for an exchange or refund.

● Maybe it's just a sliding notification. Enter the phone's Settings - About phone, continuously click the MIUI version 5 times, then the Developer options will be activated. Back to the Settings - Additional settings - Developer options, find out the INPUT section, turn off the Show touches option. If it's not this reason, try the next step.

● Maybe it's caused by the software or system error, try to reboot your phone.

● If the matter maintains, please reset the phone.

● Once the reason is not included in the above reasons, the most possible reason is that the screen flexible flat cable is broken or the screen itself is damaged. Actually, it's a small problem, just take it to a local phone fix store to check and change the broken components. Or you can contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for the component exchange.

● Check whether you have turned on the Reading mode, which will warm the screen's color and makes the screen looks yellow. Go the display setting: Enter the phone's Settings - Display - Reading mode, switch the dot button to turn it off.

● Change the phone's display color and saturation: Go to the phone's Settings - Display - Colors & contrast, change the color to the Standard mode, not the Warm mode.

change Xiaomi Redmi Note 2's display color and saturation

● If the above two display settings are fine, maybe some system errors happen. You can try to reset the phone to check whether this issue could be solved.

● But if the resetting cannot solve this problem, try to flash its firmware. Download the ROM from our blog to flash it. If you don't know how to operate, you can ask help from the professional phone fixing center staff or search the phone flash video from YouTube. Or contact the after-sales service for help.

● Once all the solutions are not working, the screen must have some quality issue or is broken. Please contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory to repair or exchange a new screen.

Camera

● Check whether there are any obstacles covering the front camera lens. Remove it, then the lens can capture the scenery.

● Camera program error happens when it's launching or accessing the data. Just shut it off and reopen it. Alternatively, reboot your phone.

● If it happens on your built-in camera program, try to install another camera app on the phone to test whether it works. If yes, it indicates that the built-in camera app has something errors. Try to reopen it or reset the phone to solve it.

● But if it only appears on the third party camera application, maybe it's an incompatibility issue. Maybe the camera app you installed is not compatible with your phone's operating system or has some conflicts with the built-in camera program. Or the camera app is not well installed. The simplest way is to uninstall the app and reinstall it.

● If either of the methods works, there must be something wrong with the camera hardware like the component is loosened or damaged. Take it to a phone fixing store to repair or contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for repair.

● Simply use a clean cloth to scrub the camera lens so that to remove the dirt.

● An inappropriate camera setting could cause this issue. Launch the Camera app, slide the screen to the right, click the center bottom gear icon to enter its settings. Roll the screen to the bottom, choose Restore default settings.

● Make sure that whether the object you shoot exceeds the camera's focusing range. If yes, the camera cannot focus on that object, which makes the photo look unclear.

● Due to the darkness (the light is dark) or bad shot environment, which will slow the shutter speed, making the photo unclear. Or your hand is shaking when shooting the photo, the camera cannot focus well on the object, which also leads this result. So when the shot environment is not good, after you click the shoot button, do not move the phone until the picture comes out. And try your best to prevent the hand shaking when taking a picture.

● Check whether there are any obstacles covering the front camera lens. Remove it, then the lens can capture the scenery.

● Camera program error happens when it's launching or accessing the data. Just shut it off and reopen it. Alternatively, reboot your phone.

● If none of the methods work, the simplest and easiest way is to reset your phone.

● Usually resetting the device will resolve the issue. If the problem persists, there is one more step you can try: Download the ROM from our blog, and follow the Flash Guide carefully. As a final resort, you can obtain technical assistance from a local phone repair service.

● If neither method is successful, there must be something wrong with the camera hardware like the component is loosened or damaged. Take it to a phone fixing store to repair or contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for repair.

Sound

● Check whether you have removed the phone's screen protective film, which will reduce the receiver's sound.

● Turn up the volume by pressing the volume button on the phone's fame when answering a phone call.

● The weak signal will also influence the phone call making you cannot hear the sound or cannot hear clearly. So move the an open area like a balcony, the signal there is good, then the problem will disappear.

● Maybe there is something wrong with the caller's phone, please call another to person to test it.

● The phone virus will cause this problem as well. Use the phone's safety management application to scan the phone and kill the viruses.

● The system error and application compatibility cause this issue, too. Just reset the phone, it's the quickest way to exclude all these possibilities.

● If none of the solutions work, we can confirm that the receiver or other related component is broken. Take it to a phone fixing store to check and repair or contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for repair.

● Check whether you have removed the phone's screen protective film, which will reduce the receiver's sound.

● Press the Volume + button to turn up the volume.

● Maybe the signal is not good in some places so that the phone cannot receive the signal well so that the users cannot hear clearly. Move to the balcony or some open area to check whether you can hear clearly.

● Call somebody else to test whether your friend stays in a bad signal place or his phone (microphone) has something wrong. If the sound can be heard with appropriate volume, you can confirm that's your friend's problem.

● If all these situations are eliminated, that should be a receiver broken issue. You can fix it in a local phone repair store or contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for a repair. But, it's actually a small problem, we suggest you to solve it locally, therefore, you need to waste the time and postage fee.

● Make sure whether the noise is from the audio / video file or not. Some audio / video may mix with noise when recording. Or the audio quality is damaged by compressing or some other reasons.

● There might be something that affects the sound spread like you put a piece of magnet around the speaker. The natural magnetic field will be influenced, therefore, the sound spread will be affected such as the sound is distorted or noisy, which makes you misunderstand that something wrong with the speaker.

● Virus also causes this issue. Use the phone management app to scan and kill the viruses and then reboot the phone.

● To reset your phone, which can completely exclude all the system or software reasons.

● Alternatively, there is one more way you can try - to flash your phone's firmware. Download the ROM from our blog, and follow the Flash Guide carefully. As a final resort, you can obtain technical assistance from a local phone repair service.

Unfortunately, if the problem persists, the reason is definitely the speaker is broken or has the quality issue. To save your time, the ideal way is to send it to a local phone repair center to fix. But if the speaker needs to be exchanged, we kindly advise you to describe the trouble to the after-sales service and send it back to the factory for the speaker exchange.

● Change another audio / music to play, maybe the audio is broken.

● Check whether there are any obstacles covering the phone speaker that forbidding the sound coming out.

● Some application programs, system errors, compatibility issues, or viruses make the phone sound card fail to work. Scan your phone with the built-in security application to to remove these possibilities and then reboot your phone to see whether it works.

● Try to reset your phone.

● Once reset makes no sense, the final step you can try is flash the firmware. Download the ROM from our blog, and follow the Flash Guide carefully. As a final resort, you can obtain technical assistance from a local phone repair service.

● If the speaker has been heavily used too much like play the loud music with highest volume too often, the speaker may be damaged that cannot transfer the sound anymore. Or once all above steps cannot solve this trouble, the speaker might be broken as well. You can fix it in any phone repair store or contact the after-service to send it back to the factory to change an original speaker.

Battery & Charge

If only the indicator light doesn't work, maybe it's just because the light is broken. But the phone cannot be launched as well, which indicates that the phone cannot be charged. So the reason could be divided into three possibilities: the battery is not activated, the USB charger / cable is broken, or the phone's USB port / battery is damaged.

● Connect the phone to its original USB charger through the original USB cable, and long press the phone's Power button for 30 seconds to activate the phone's battery, then charge it for 10 minutes to check whether it works. If yes, this cause of this issue belongs to the first reason.

● If not, change another working USB cable to have a try. Once it works, the reason belongs to the second condition. Not working? Try another same power voltage and input / output charger.

● Sometime the phone's USB port may be oxidized, you can use a cotton swab with some anhydrous alcohol to wipe the port and then wait for a minute until the alcohol is dry. Then charge the phone again.

When none of the methods work, the reason could be definitely confirmed as the phone's component like the USB port or battery is broken, one of the resorts is to take it to a phone repair center to fix it. Alternatively, you can ask help from the after-sales service.

● Check whether the USB charger is the original one. A non-original power charger has a different input and output power which may cause the battery charge failure.

● Maybe the power charger's pin is oxidized if it has been used for a long time. So you use an eraser to clean the pin, and retry it. Or maybe the charging port on the phone be oxidized as well, you can use a cotton swab with some anhydrous alcohol to wipe the port and then wait for a minute until the alcohol is dry. Then charge the phone again.

● Charge the phone for minimum 10 minutes and then boot it. If it fails, continuously press the phone Power button three times and then hold the Power button for 10 seconds to see whether it can be opened.

● Or keep connecting the phone to the power source, press the Power button for 30 seconds to activate the battery, then release the button. Let it be charged for some time and boot it again.

● Charge with another effective USB cable or appropriate power charger to have a try.

● However, if neither solution is successful, the most possible reason should be the USB port is broken or the battery has something wrong. There are two resorts for you: take it to a local phone fixing store to check and repair, or contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory for a repair.

The effective electric that charges into the battery only occupies half of the total amount because the other half part is transforming as heat energy. It's a common physical reaction.

● Once the phone is fully charged but you don't pull it out from the charger, all the electric power will all transform to heat energy, sure the phone will become hot.

● If you are playing the phone when charging it like playing an online game or watching a movie, the phone's CUP is working at a high speed, which will also create and release abundant heat. So prevent heavily using the phone when it's charging.

● The most terrible situation is that the battery is damaged or aged. When the heat is extremely high and expanded, please stop charging it immediately and leave it away! Wait until it cools down and take it to a local phone fixing center to check and exchange the battery. Or contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory to exchange an original battery.

How long a battery can work actually depends on how the users use. If you open all the functions on the phone or open the GPS, cellular data, WiFi or Bluetooth feature all the time, sure the battery consumes very fast that cannot be used for a long time after a full charge. And if the brightness of the screen is high and it always lights, which will speed the power consumption as well. So you can prevent the battery fast consumption issues by following solutions:

● Shut off the functions you rarely use, and only launch them when needed.

● Turn down the screen's brightness manually or set the screen brightness as the automatic adjusting mode.

● Maybe the battery hasn't been activated before, so activate the battery: continuously use the phone until the battery is running out and the phone powers off automatically. Then charge it. Do it for several times.

● Wipe the battery's memory (only available on rooted phones):

a. Power on the phone and charge it.

b. Once the charge finish notification appears, pull it out from the charger.

c. Power off the phone and then connect it to the charger to charge it again until the screen shows the "charge completes" notification.

d. Disconnect the phone with from the charger and power on the phone and power it off immediately when it enter the phone system.

e. Charge it again until the fully charged notification comes out again.

f. Long press the Power button and Volume + button together to enter the phone's Recovery mode. Choose Recovery -- advanced -- wipe battery status.

● If all these methods make no sense, there must be something wrong with the phone's battery or related components. Please contact the after-sales service for more help or return it back the factory to check and repair.

SIM card & Network

● Check whether you have correctly installed the SIM card in the card slot.

● Take out the SIM card from the phone and use an eraser to clean the card's chip. Then reinsert it back and test whether it's OK.

● Remove the SIM from the phone and install it in another phone to check whether it's because the SIM card is broken or not. If it cannot be detected by another phone as well, it means the SIM card is broken, just change a new card.

● If it can be detected, then please check the SIM card slot, whether it's loosened or not. If it's loosened, you need to take your Redmi note 2 to a phone fixing store to screw the slot up.

● If the slot has no problem, there must be something wrong with the phone, maybe due to some system errors, so you can try to reset your phone to see whether it works.

● If not, there must be something wrong with the components. Take it to the phone fixing store to repair or turn to the after-sales service for help.

● Please check whether you have turned on the Mobile data feature. Drag the shortcut menu from the phone screen's top, check whether the Mobile data feature is turned on. If not, simply tap the button to open it.

turn on mobile data

● If you have installed a phone / cellular data management application, when your cellular data package will run out, the application will automatically turn off the cellular data feature to prevent its overuse. So check the app's settings. You can cancel the cellular data automatically switches off setting.

● Make a phone call to check whether your phone is out of service, if yes, please pay your bill and then reboot your phone, then you can normally use the cellular data.

● Install an APN application on your phone if you have mistyped the wrong APN on your phone, which will stop you using the cellular data. This application can automatically correct the APN for your phone according to the SIM card operator’s information.

● Ask the SIM card operator whether you have activated the internet service if your SIM card is a new one.

● Remove the SIM card from your phone and install it into another phone to check whether the cellular data is working, if yes, your phone has something wrong. You can take it to a phone fixing store to check and fix. If it needs to exchange some components, you'd better to contact the after-sales service to send it back to the factory to exchange the original ones.

● Please check whether you have activated the 4G network service by asking the SIM card's operator.

● Remove this SIM card from your Redmi note 2 to insert it in another phone and check whether it can work normally or not. If not, the SIM card has some troubles. Please bring it to the SIM card service center and ask help from the staff. If yes, continue with next step.

● Please check whether the phone supports this SIM card's 4G network frequency band. For Xiaomi Redmi note 2, it supports FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz 4G network. If it supports, your phone has something wrong. Please take it to a phone repair center for fixing. If not, change a FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz 4G network SIM card.

Dead & Boot

Maybe it's just because the phone runs out the battery. Or there might be some system errors happening, otherwise, it should be hardware damage issue. You can try the following ways:

● Charge the phone through its original USB cable for minimum 10 minutes then boot it.

● After a charge, if the phone still cannot boot normally. Please reset the phone though its Recovery mode at the phone's power off state.

If you don't know how to operate, you can ask help from the professional phone fixing center staff or search the phone flash video from YouTube. Or contact the after-sales service for help.

The worst situation is that even the firmware flash cannot solve this problem. If so, definitely the hardware is damaged. Please contact the after-sales service to send the product back to the factory to repair.

The reasons that could cause this problem is numerous like system errors, application incompatibility, virus attacks, hardware broken, etc.

● If you could normally enter the phone, uninstall the applications which are not compatible with your phone OS. (When you launch these applications the phone dies and starts to reboot unusually, it means they are not compatible with your phone OS.)
