What is the battery life of the Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom?
When using the DJI Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom, you have a maximum drone time of 31 minutes when the battery is 100% charged. This depends of course on many parameters to be taken into account: drone speed, drone environment, outside wind, selected drone mode etc.... The drone time can be shortened, for example, if you fly in an environment with a lot of wind and you fly in sport mode.
The intelligent drone battery life for Mavic 2 may be slightly reduced if you choose the S1, S2 and S3 approved version. Indeed, the homologation of the UAV requires that an engine shutdown be installed on the UAV.
Is there another type of battery for the DJI Mavic 2Pro/Zoom?
It is possible to use the intelligent drone battery of the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise model. This battery is compatible with the DJI Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 2 Zoom drones. The battery has the same attributes but adds a self-heating function that is particularly useful when flying in very cold environments. The function allows all cells to be heated individually in order to take off quickly in these environments. This battery extends the use of the drone in temperatures between -10°C and 40°C.
Can we transport the drone and its battery by plane?
It is advisable to respect the rules for the transport of your UAV and its battery (s) by plane. These rules are established and must be respected but obviously differ from airlines. We recommend that you question them directly before your drone in order to be in order on the day of your trip. However, some rules are easy to understand and represent a common basis for the different airlines.
Batteries below 100wH are allowed on board the aircraft in cabin baggage in reasonable quantities. The DJI Mavic 2's intelligent drone battery is 59.59wH, so you can easily carry it with the drone in your carry-on baggage. We do not recommend carrying in the aircraft's checked baggage and chances are your airline will not allow it either. We recommend that you avoid short circuits of the battery by taping the part that supplies it and placing each battery in a plastic bag such as a Zip-lock. One last important point is to declare your battery(s) when checking in your luggage.
