How to build environment control with Xiaomi intelligent home (temperature, humidity, and air quality)

Let's start with the background. In fact, it is very simple in principle. It is now winter. Taking heating as an example, the system should save energy on the basis of providing suitable temperature, humidity and excellent air quality, and realize these functions.
1. When the balcony temperature is high, open the big air purifier to send the fresh air through the sliding door of the living room and the main horizontal floating window into the room, so the temperature of the new air sent into the room is also very high.
2.When humidity is low, open a humidifier to add humidification, humidity down reach regulation. When it reaches the regulated humidity, it stops.
3.If the temperature is low at home, the heating will be turned on, and the heating will be shut down when the specified temperature is reached.
These features run automatically without human intervention at all, so I don't need to open the Mi app, often unless special circumstances or adjustments are made.
Several components are used: Xiaomi smart gateway, Xiaomi smart socket, Xiaomi temperature and humidity sensor, Xiaomi door magnetic, Xiaomi wireless switch (optional), and, of course, the fresh air from Xiaomi air purifier.
These several things look quite big, in fact, these few things except the gateway is a little bigger, the other are all extremely small. Take the temperature and humidity sensor as an example, its diameter is only 3.3 cm. The low power consumption of formal zigbee makes these components only need very small batteries, thus the overall volume is greatly reduced, and the installation is flexible and convenient.
The installation is easy, the gateway is anywhere, but it is best to close to the center to ensure that all rooms of network communication is relatively smooth. I put the temperature and humidity sensor on the balcony. The door magnetism is placed on the sliding door of the living room and balcony. The human sensors are put in the living room. The socket, of course, is next to the humidifier. The wireless switch is on the head of the bed, which is easy to use.
The setup is very simple, the temperature and humidity measured by the temperature and humidity sensor as the control basis.
● Temperature control: at home, If the temperature and humidity sensor is below 18 degrees, the heating will be turned on. If it is above 21 degrees, the heating will be stopped.
● humidity control: if humidity is less than 45%, the humidifier will be turned on. If it is above 60%, the humidifier will be stopped.
● Air control: When the sun is good, the temperature of the balcony will be much higher than the interior, so when the balcony temperature is above 22 degrees and the sliding door opens, the high speed of the air purifier, let the new wind be heated in the balcony and enters the room. In general, this time I will go to work, the process automatically, can make the temperature of 1 ~ 2 degrees Celsius, save the heating of the gas at the same time. But I also have a little air fan, which is also controlled by a smart plug, and it's very good to have a fast air exchange with the master bedroom and the balcony.
So that's the control logic.
1.When the temperature is above 21 degress, it stops heating.
2.When the temperature is below 18 degress, it starts heating.
3.When the humidity is above 60%, it stops humidifying.
4.When the humidity is below 45%, it starts humidifying.
5.During the period from 9:00 to 16:00, the balcony temperature is more than 22, and the door is open and the high speed air purifier mode and the air fan are activated.
At other times, the heating is operated regularly. It usually opens automatically an hour before getting up, starts automatically an hour before work, and stops automatically two hours after sleep.
Overall, the system stabilizes home temperatures at 18-21 degrees, humidity at 45% -60%.
The effect of energy saving is obvious. Last year, because of more business trips and less time at home, gas costs were saved by about 50%. This year, according to current estimates, at least 30% of gas can be saved at home every day, and the money saved is almost enough to buy this whole set.

Broadlink uses wifi transports, but according to internal sources, broadlink's new product will use a new communications network, powerful and very far away, no problem covering single-family villas. The advantage of wifi transmission is that the distance is relatively long. As long as there is network coverage, but power consumption is relatively large, it is difficult to make miniaturization. Xiaomi's intelligent components use low-power, low-speed zigbee, benefits, of course, power consumption and volume. Using button batteries can be used for 1 to 2 years, so Xiaomi's human body sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, wireless switches, Gate magnetism and so on are much smaller than broadlink, of course, transmission speed zigbee is far worse than wifi.
In addition, broadlink does not have a special gateway, any two devices can be linked, and Xiaomi's intelligent components must cooperate with the gateway to work, of course, different structures also have advantages and disadvantages. The design of gateway is more concise, the disadvantage is that once the gateway is dead, the whole system is dead; the design without independent gateway is more flexible, but when used, the linkage of different components should be seriously considered.
On the control side, Xiaomi has two good things for controlling smart home systems: wireless switches and Rubik's Cube controllers, which can be controlled by different actions, such as a push to turn on the humidifier. App, Broadlink's previous easy-to-control app experience is not very good, but the new smart star app experience is very good, voice control recognition rate, the experience is very good. Xiaomi's Mijia app is also good, very convenient, and has automatic log function, but with Mijia Mall and the discovery of cool play two columns, app is a bit like selling things, give people a bad feeling.
Peripheral smart appliances, air purifiers, rice cookers, water purifiers and other peripherals are of course much more than Xiaomi's. Fortunately, Broadlink's "Broadlink dna" has also won the support of a number of equipment manufacturers, such as Hongyan and bong.
Of course, there are many differences between the two: Xiaomi temperature and humidity sensor has historical data curve, while Broadlink environmental sensor A1 does not have historical data, but can detect temperature, humidity, sound, brightness and air quality; Xiaomi intelligent socket is smaller than Broadlink's SPmini and has power statistics. Broadlink's universal remote control also has infrared and radio frequency, while Xiaomi only has infrared.
In a word, Broadlink based on wi-fi and Xiaomi based on Zigbee have their own advantages and disadvantages. The basic functions of smart home can be satisfied by both.
