How to choose the resolution of liquid crystal display

Whether it is an LCD or a general CRT display, the resolution is the main test standard of the monitor. Because the display must be able to support the resolution required for the application of software and hardware. Traditional CRT displays are more flexible for supported resolutions. The image of the display is mainly generated by the pixel (Pixels) composed of many stacked points or lines, so the number of pixels is an important factor affecting the resolution.

LCD does not support as many display modes as CRT. LCD only supports the so-called true resolution, which can be compared to the highest resolution of a typical CRT display. The main difference is that the LCD LCD can only show the best image at the true resolution. 

LCD monitor presents a low-resolution display mode, it can be displayed in two ways. The first is centered display. For example, when you want to display a resolution of SVGA800 × 600on a XGA1024 × 768screen, only 1024 pixels in the center and 600lines in the center can be displayed. Other pixels and wires that have not been presented have no choice but to maintain the darkness. The whole picture looks as if the image shrinks in the middle and is surrounded by shadows on the periphery. The other is extended display. The advantage of this display method is that no matter what resolution you use, the image displayed must be applied to every pixel on the screen without creating a shadow edge surround. However, because the image is extended to every pixel on the screen, the image will inevitably be distorted and the clarity and accuracy will be affected.


So when choosing LCD, make sure it supports the original resolution of the application hardware and software you are using. Never blindly believe that the higher the resolution, the better. Remember that LCD LCD monitors are different from ordinary CRT monitors. If your device requires a resolution of XGA1024 × 768, you'd better make sure that your LCD LCD can support the resolution of the original XGA. No more and no less, it's for the best.
