DJI drone gimbal, a fundamental part of the drone, can present malfunctions over time, and the causes can be different. Inclination error, motor overload, abnormal vibrations and environmental factors. Today,we will going to tell you how to fix DJI drone gimbal tilt and roll error.

 DJI drone

Method 1: Calibrating the IMU

One of the main problems with the stability of the universal joint is related to the calibration of the IMU. Restoring the drive through the application can be a solution to instability. These are the steps to be taken for the correct calibration of the IMU:

Step 1: place the drone on a flat surface in a bubble

Step 2: open the DJI GO application

Step 3: select Main Controller Setting

Step 4: select the Advanced Settings item

Step 5: enter the Sensor section

Step 6: Select IMU

Step 7: Press the Calibrate IMU key.

Step 8: follow step by step all the instructions displayed on the screen

Step 9: you must position the drone according to the directions to calibrate the IMU and correct the drone's position settings

The procedure is automatically terminated and the application displays a notice of completion of the procedure.

In the event of an error, perform the calibration again, taking care to follow correctly all the indications and times indicated by the procedure.

Method 2: Automatic gimbal calibration

If the IMU calibration procedure has not resolved the stability problems, a gimbal calibration must be performed.

Through the DJI GO app, the driver can intervene directly on the problem and try to solve it quickly.

To calibrate the gimbal you need to:

Step 1: open the DJI GO app on your mobile device

Step 2: select Camera

Step 3: enter the Setup interface

Step 4: access the Gimbal section

Step 5: from the menu select the item Gimbal Automatic Calibration

Step 6: press Ok to start the procedure

Method 3: Restore the Roll of the gimbal

If there are still stability problems as a result of the calibration procedures, the gimbal roll must be corrected. In this way the horizon will remain fixed while the camera is free to move

The procedure is accessible with the DJI GO app through these steps:

Step 1: access the Gimbal Settings menu interface

Step 2: select the item Adjust Gimbal Roll

Step 3: open the Camera view and you can manually correct the roll
