How to pair PS4 controller with an Android phone

Smartphone games compatible with a controller are not the majority on the Google Play Store, but there are still a number of them, plus emulators and their plethora of games that have now become cult. To take full advantage of it, there are several solutions, starting with dedicated Bluetooth controllers sold on the market, but rarely qualitative or at exorbitant prices, or OTG adapters that allow you to connect a USB controller, although many of them do not offer a bypass to power the phone, which limits the game time.
Fortunately, you may have a compatible wireless controller that hangs around your home. With the PlayStation 3 controller, handling is tedious and requires the phone to be rooted. For the PlayStation 4 controller, on the other hand - also known as DualShock 4 - it only takes a few seconds to make it work on an Android device. After all, it works in Bluetooth.
Pair your controller with your smartphone
The DualShock 4 works natively in Bluetooth and therefore does not require any special tools or cables to be coupled to an Android device. To do this, first enable Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet and search for transmitter devices.
The controller should not be recognized immediately. To make it appear in the list of available devices, keep the PlayStation, Share and Options buttons pressed until the light bar starts to flash. From this point on, your controller will be recognized in the list of devices available under the name Wireless Controller. A simple click on it allows you to pair it with your smartphone.
Be careful, however, as with other controllers, if it is supported natively by the system, there is no guarantee that it will be compatible with your favorite game and a turn by the application settings to redefine its keys is often an essential step for an ideal playing experience. Joysticks in particular are not well recognized by a large majority of games.
