How to prevent DJI Mavic Mini drone GPS single loss?

Ensure that a starting point has been established
If you want your drone to return home, make sure the starting point is set before you leave! You need at least 4 GPS signal bars. Once the starting point is set, you will see a message in the app and a green dot will appear on the map.
Watch out for compass errors
A good GPS signal is necessary for your drone to find its way home. In addition, your drone's compass must be relatively free of interference. The GPS only determines the drone's position and the compass determines its orientation. If you give the command to return, your drone will change direction and fly back to the starting point. But if it doesn't know in which direction to fly, it could fly somewhere else.
The DJI FLY App warns you if the compass noise is too big. You can also see the strength of the disturbances in your environment in the Settings - General - Compass. The Mavic Mini has redundant compasses, but if one or both of them show red markings, it's a good idea to recalibrate them or visit an area with less interference.
Fly within sight
The risk of your drone crashing or getting lost is much lower if you can see it with your own eyes. There are good reasons why flying within sight is a legal requirement. Monitoring your drone exclusively via image transmission is not a good idea. If you do this, you will not be able to see what is behind or to the side of the drone. Sometimes it only leads to fly-aways when the drone is not visible. Fly within the line of sight and stay on the safe side!
Reset the starting point if you change location
As long as you have a sufficient GPS signal, the starting point is set automatically when you start. However, it will not reset automatically if you change location yourself. If you are driving in a car or boat, you must reset the starting point at regular intervals. This GIF shows you how to reset the starting point:
Set the correct altitude to return to the starting point
Although the newer drones from DJI have a visual system that allows the drones to fly around obstacles during return, it's still a good idea to set the altitude beforehand. In conditions with too little light, the sensors do not work and glass surfaces and water are not always detected. In addition, the sensors cannot detect thin objects such as tree branches or power lines.
