To help you find the right app, we searched for the best call loggers and quickly outlined our favorites in the following paragraphs. Try not to forget the whole legality.
Recording calls using Google Voice
Surprisingly, in addition to helping you filter out unwanted calls, Google Voice also records calls for free. The only frustration is that Google doesn't allow you to record outgoing calls, only incoming calls and you must move the phone number to Google to access the recording feature. If you want to record any conversations you need to initiate, or if you like the current carrier, this can be quite inconvenient.
The GetHuman website is a great solution for recording customer service calls. This website allows you to notify you of the specific company you wish to represent on your behalf. To start recording calls using Google Voice, you first need to set up an account. It's very simple - just visit voice.google.com and follow the instructions. Once your account is up and running, the next step is to enable call recording so you can actually record and automatically save the conversation as an MP3 file.
Step 1: Navigate to the Google Voice homepage.
Step 2: Click the three-point icon on the left menu and select "Settings" from the results menu. Step 3: Scroll down to the "Call" section and make sure the "Caller" option is enabled.
After doing this, you can record an incoming call by pressing the number “4” on the phone keypad during a call. Doing so triggers automatic voice, notifying both parties that a call is being recorded. To stop recording, simply press "4" again or end the call in the normal way. After you stop recording, Google automatically saves the conversation to your inbox, which is where you can find, listen to, or download all your recordings.
If you want to listen to recorded calls on your iPhone, you'll need to download the Google Voice app.
(1)Start the Google Voice app as usual.
(2)Tap Menu in the top left corner of the app.
(4)Find the phone you want to listen to, then touch the recording to open it.
(5)Tap the play icon in the lower left corner.
Record outgoing calls using the iPhone app - you need to use something other than Google Voice when recording calls and outgoing calls. There aren't many free options out there, but if you're willing to spend a few bucks, there are plenty of options. We have tested a lot of call recorders and we believe the following four options are the best.
Make a call through NONOTES.COM
If you only want to record a call, this app might be your best bet. After downloading and registering your NoNotes account, you will receive a free 20-minute call recording per month. If you need to return to an older conversation, you can also save calls in the cloud and access them later.
If you don't mind prepaying some money for a good app, you can choose TapeACall Pro. Prices have changed recently and are a bit confusing. It works a little differently than the other options listed here. For incoming calls, you start recording by pausing anyone you're talking for a while, then open the app and press the record button. After all of these operations are completed, the calls are merged and stored with the remote recording service. For outgoing calls, you open the app, tap Record, then call anyone and merge the call. Unlike other services, TapeACall Pro does not notify the other party that you are recording a conversation. Once you have finished recording, you can access the stored audio files directly on your smartphone.
CALL RECORDER PRO
You can use this app to record incoming calls or outgoing calls, but it does require you to set up a three-way call by placing the call on hold, dialing into the recorder via the app, and then merging the calls, which is a bit of a hassle . On the other hand, it does mean that you can easily start recording an ongoing call. This is a reliable service that makes it easy to manage your recordings, you can download and share them via SMS, email, Dropbox and other apps.
Depending on the country you are calling, IntCall may be one of the cheapest rates per minute. It's cheaper than the pay-per-minute plan offered by NoNotes. The only downside is that it works over VoIP lines, which means you need to connect to a Wi-Fi network to use it.
Recording with an external recorder - The last option is to select a dedicated recorder for plugging directly into the smartphone's 3.5mm jack or via Bluetooth. Products such as the Koolertron phone call recorder will do the job, but if you have a newer iPhone, you may need to use a lightning to headphone adapter. The RecorderGear PR200 will easily record any incoming or outgoing calls wirelessly, allowing you to save the conversation time.
