The NVIDIA Control Panel is a software interface developed by NVIDIA that allows you to configure the NVIDIA driver. You can use it to change the resolution or set certain graphics settings for games. You can also use the Control Panel to get general information about the system, such as which CPU is installed, how much RAM you have, or which BIOS you are using.
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel: How to do it
The NVIDIA Control Panel can be found in the taskbar after installing the graphics card drivers. To open it, simply click on the icon. Then the NVIDIA Graphics Control Panel will open and you can change settings or retrieve information as you wish. If you can't find the NVIDIA Control Panel, there are several other ways to open it.
▪ Right-click the desktop and select NVIDIA Graphics Control Panel from the drop-down menu.
▪ Opens Windows Explorer and navigates to the path C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client. Opens the file nvcplui.exe.
▪ If required you can also create a shortcut from this file on the desktop.
▪ In Windows 10 you can also create and attach your own tile.
In addition to the control panel, NVIDIA now also offers the cloud-based application Geforce Experience, which allows you to configure drivers for current games online. For more information about Geforce Experience, visit the official NVIDIA product page.
NVIDIA Control Panel does not work, Control Panel no longer works: Solutions
If the Control Panel is missing, you can reinstall the video card drivers. The control panel will then be included. You can find the required files on the NVIDIA website.
You may also have simply hidden the corresponding icon in the taskbar. If the control panel entry has disappeared, right-click on a free space in the taskbar. Select "Show notification icons" from the context menu. In the new window you can show the NVIDIA icon again. On Windows 10, you will find a selection of hidden icons via the small arrow pointing upwards.
In exceptional cases, the NVIDIA Control Panel may stop working or may not be found at all. If you have problems with the NVIDIA Control Panel, you should try the following solutions:
▪ Opens the Services app in Windows and ensures that the NVIDIA Display Driver service is set to Automatic or Manual (not Disabled).
▪If the problem persists, a complete reinstallation of the NVIDIA drivers will help.
▪The Uninstall and Reinstall NVIDIA Driver guide will show you how to do this.
