Really easy fixes for 3 common security camera IP address issues
By GB Blog Official 2018-07-03 2606 1
Our guide will focus on resolving the 3 most common IP address issues affecting users. This is for cameras that have static IP addresses.
1. Cannot change the IP address of the IP camera
This is quite a standard issue. Only the IP camera is connected to the internet, so you can change the IP address.
What you need to do is to check the connection quality.
If you can see real-time images output from the IP cam, it means they're connected - you can change the IP address at this point.
If you cannot see the images, it means the camera is offline. You need to re-connect the IP camera to the internet until the image appears on-screen; the connection is successful, and you can change the IP address.
2. No image visible after IP address change
Once you change the IP address of the IP camera, you need to restart the IP camera immediately. This allows the new IP address to work.
If it still cannot work, confirm whether the new IP address is in the same network segment as the PC's IP address in.
If not, adjust it to the same network segment with the PC. And restart the camera.
The new IP address will work normally and the images will appear.
3. Forget the new IP address after changing it
Believe it not, this is actually quite common! Mainly because we have so many passwords and other numbers to remember in our daily lives.
Just hold the reset button of the camera for 10 seconds. The IP address will automatically reset to the factory default and you can then change it into a new one again.
If you are afraid of forgetting the IP again, simply write it down on a notebook.
Just make sure that when you reset the IP camera, it's plugged into the power socket. However, if the reset did not work correctly, you will need to send it to a repair store.
We hope these solutions were useful for you!
