These can be summarized into three broad issues: phone signal problems, cellular data network issues, and changing the phone language. In fact, these are all fairly straightforward to resolve and the solutions don't even require you to be very tech-savvy! We've prepared this short guide packed with answers to help you to resolve these common issues. Keep reading to find out more!
● First, check whether the phone supports the SIM card's network frequency band. If it doesn't, you'll have to change to a compatible SIM card. The Lenovo K5 Note has support for the following FDD-LTE, WCDMA, and GSM networks:
2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz
3G: WCDMA 800/850/900/1700/1900/2100MHz
4G: FDD-LTE 1800/2100/2600MHz
● Ensure the SIM card has been inserted securely and correctly into the card slot.
● If the phablet can read the SIM card, but doesn't have a signal, please move to a more open area outside to see whether the phone can receive a clear signal.
● If you have paid your service plan fee, please contact the SIM card operator for technical support.
● Sometimes the network operator will make adjustments to the signal or fix some signal errors, either one of these can affect your phone signal reception. Just be patient and try again later.
● The phone network settings may be incorrect, reset the network settings to their factory default.
(a). Are you using a new SIM card?
● First of all, you should activate the SIM card first via the service provider to use cellular data.
● Insert the SIM card into another phone to determine if the SIM card itself is faulty. For technical assistance, you can contact the service provider directly.
● Verify that the specific network/carrier frequency is compatible with the phone.
(b). What if I'm using an older SIM card?
● Make sure you have turned on the cellular data/network feature. Swipe down from the top of the screen to view the shortcut menu, check whether the cellular data feature is on. If not, simply tap the button to toggle it on.
● If you have set monthly traffic limits, check whether you have used up your data allowance for the cellular plan.
How to check: Go to Settings - Mobile networks settings - Data Conn. Check to ensure that the cellular network can be used.
● Restart Phone: If you have reached your monthly data limit/quota, you will be unable to use network data without buying additional data blocks from your provider. However, if you have already paid but the network remains usable, simply restart the phone.
● Reset APNs to default: The APN (Access Point Name) settings may be incorrect. Go to Settings - Network - APNs - Reset to default, and the system will automatically select and configure the correct settings.
● Contact your service provider: If the previous methods do not work, you can contact the provider for further, more detailed assistance.
You can set your desired language in the phone's settings: "设置 - 语言和输入法 - 语言 / Settings - Language & Input - Select wanted language". The Lenovo K5 Note phablet supports a total of 53 languages, so simply find your desired language.
Unfortunately, it's not possible at this time. Generally, it is unnecessary to date the phone if there are no major problems. More issues may appear if you try to force upgrade the firmware.
NFC stands for Near Field Communication and works like Bluetooth, but at a much shorter range. It's used primary for sharing files or pairing with other NFC-enabled devices. Compared to Bluetooth, it does however provide more security: there is no need to pair with compatible devices or go through any kind of setup first. Unfortunately, the Lenovo K5 Note does not support the NFC function.
