The factors that affect the life of the monitor

When buying a display, people are very concerned about the resolution, bandwidth, refresh rate, color restoration ability and so on, but after the purchase, they often ignore the maintenance, so that the reliability and service life of the display are greatly shortened. According to relevant statistics, 50% of display failures are caused by poor environmental conditions, 30% are caused by improper operation or poor management, and only 20% are naturally damaged due to poor quality or aging components. Thus it can be seen that environmental conditions and human factors are the main causes of display failure. Therefore, users must understand and master the general maintenance knowledge and maintenance methods of the display.

1. Temperature

The adaptive temperature of the display, CRT at 10 ℃ 35 ℃, LCD at 0 ℃ 40 ℃ (specific products refer to its operating instructions).

When the ambient temperature is too low, the sprouting cover plate inside the CRT is cold deformed, which makes the screen appear irregular color block or deflection circuit deformation, resulting in magnetic field movement and blurring or tailing. In addition, each electronic component has its own working environment parameters. When the ambient temperature is too low, image jitter, deformation and other faults may occur. The working environment temperature of Qili CMV-1502 LCD is 535 ℃. If the temperature of the working environment is lower than 5 ℃, there will be no display, which is often mistaken for monitor failure.

Special reminder: when a monitor has just been brought indoors from the outside where the temperature is below 0 ℃, do not power up immediately. You need to wait an hour or more to power up the monitor when the temperature is the same as the room temperature to prevent the picture tube from bursting due to immediate power-up.

When the ambient temperature is too high, the high temperature generated by the display's own circuit is not easy to radiate, which is easy to cause poor heat dissipation, resulting in thermal breakdown of circuit components and damage to the display.

2. Humidity

Monitor is 30% 80%. If the humidity is too high, it is easy to cause high voltage discharge and damage FBT or other components. At the same time, the circuit components of the display are also easy to be damaged or leaked in a wet environment. If dew occurs, water droplets will cause a short circuit and cause greater damage. When the humidity is too dry, it is easy to produce static electricity, resulting in electric shock, human injury or circuit damage.

3. Dust

The anode voltage inside the display is 20kV / 30kV, which can easily attract dust in the air. When the display is placed in a dusty or dusty environment, the dust absorbed by high pressure is easy to accumulate on the circuit board, resulting in poor heat dissipation and damage of the display circuit components. it may also cause circuit components to change value or short circuit caused by dust absorbing moisture in the air. At the same time, the CRT screen will also reduce the brightness due to high-pressure dust adsorption, and users will unconsciously increase the brightness of the display, resulting in the premature aging of CRT. For flour mills, cement plants, coal mines and other dusty units, we should pay attention to the dustproof of computers and other peripherals.

In order to effectively prevent dust hazards and ensure that the monitor is used in a relatively clean environment, you should buy a special dust cover for the monitor and put it on immediately after each use (be careful not to cover it immediately after shutdown, because it takes a certain amount of time for the monitor to dissipate heat after shutdown).

4. Light

Display screen must not be exposed to direct sunlight or other strong light, otherwise it will accelerate the aging of CRT phosphor. In addition, in the strong light, the user's eyes are also prone to fatigue, which will reduce work efficiency.

5. Air

Display should not be placed in an environment with excessive content of acid, corrosive, gas and other gases, otherwise the antistatic coating on the surface of CRT will fall off and the circuit components will be damaged by premature aging. For paint factories, solvent factories, chemical plants, etc., we should pay attention to the protection of computer peripherals such as monitors. The gas we often use (including coal stoves) is the enemy of household appliances, so household appliances must be avoided in this kind of environment.

6. Magnetic field

The CRT display restores the image by controlling the electron bombardment of the phosphor on the CRT surface by the controllable magnetic field generated by its own circuit. If there is additional magnetic field interference or superposition, the image can not be restored normally, resulting in image jitter, color block, tilt and so on. When in use, try to face the monitor to the east, because the factory adjustment of the display is carried out to the east, so that the display can be least affected by the earth's magnetic field.

Computers should stay away from magnetic fields, such as refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines and other household appliances that are easy to produce magnetic fields.

7. The working voltage of the power supply

Display is generally 100,240V alternating current. When in use, you must have good contact and choose a power outlet that can provide more than 5A current.

Monitors cannot be used with high-power or strong magnetic field household appliances such as televisions, refrigerators, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, stereos, etc. Note: computers must not use ordinary non-antimagnetic speakers, otherwise it is easy to cause magnetization of the display.

8. Placement

Monitor should be placed on a stable and non-shaking worktable to avoid accidental damage.

9. Backup power

For your normal use and avoid accidental damage to the monitor, if possible, equip your computer with UPS backup power.

10. Altitude

Display instructions generally refer to altitude, no more than 10000 feet (about 3000 meters). As a user in the plain area, you don't have to worry about this problem, but you need to consider it if you use it in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Note: if your monitor is used in a special environment, such as high temperature, humidity, strong magnetic, low temperature, etc., or at high altitude, please choose a professional monitor. Otherwise, the ordinary monitor will not work properly.
