Time to clean your Xbox controller - 6 steps
We all love our consoles, no matter the generation we belong to! But if you love your console, it's imperative that you take care of it so as to increase its productivity and longevity.
These are 6 steps you should repeat fairly often, perhaps once a month depending on where you store your Xbox - dust and dirt can accumulate very quickly and start causing problems if you don’t clean it often enough.
Step 1: Remove your Xbox controller's battery.
Step 2: Scrape off the dirt from Xbox controller with a toothpick; if it doesn't scrape off easily, try with something like a needle or a pin.
Step 3: Clean the start and back buttons by probing the little triangles with the point of the toothpick.
Step 4: Run the pointy side of the toothpick along the seam of the top and bottom half of the Xbox controllers.
Step 5: Take a moist towelette and wipe the entire surface of the Xbox controller.
Step 6: Put the battery back into the Xbox controller and replace the battery cover.
Cleaning the inside of your Xbox is a delicate process since you’re dealing with electronic parts that can be easily damaged by moist or bad handling, so pay attention.
Remeber that a good and regular cleaning actually prevents hardware malfunction and prolong your Xbox’s life.
