Why Sonoff device can’t pair with eWeLink App? How to solve it?

Why you can’t pair Sonoff basic with eWelink APP? We will explain the reasons and give you the solutions.

● The eWeLink app remains suspended during pairing (possibly indicating that you have found a device)

● An explicit Failed Pairing error is returned

How to solve Sonoff device connect issue?

● Check again that the WiFi access point is at 2.4 GHz

● Verify the WiFi name and password contain only letters a-z (A-Z) and numbers 0-9

● Try to bring the device closer to the WiFi router if it is too far away

● Repeat the pairing procedure on the eWeLink app.

● Perform the pairing procedure with other WiFi access points if available

● Perform the pairing procedure with a WiFi hotspot (such as a smartphone)

If the Sonoff problem does not pair, check on the eWeLink app that the selected pairing mode is consistent with the blinking frequency of the LED on the device:

● If the LED flashes alternately twice fast and once slow, you must use the Quick Pairing mode (default).

● If the LED flashes quickly, you must use the Compatible Pairing mode (AP).

In the case of iOS smartphones for the Compatible Pairing mode, you will need to connect your smartphone to the WiFi network created by the device itself with the name of the type ITEAD-100000xxx and password 12345678:

And then start the actual pairing in Compatible Pairing mode.
