Our Xiaomi Mi4 FAQ addresses these along with answering any doubts you might have to better understand the device.
● Check if you have set the whole system to subtractive color. If so, please turn off the subtractive color function.
● If the color is abnormal across the entire OS, go to "Settings - Additional settings - Accessibility - Color inversion" and make sure color inversion is turned off.
● However if the color is only abnormal in the browser, then go into the Browser's settings: "Settings - Additional settings - Color inversion" and turn off this function.
● If none of the above fixes resolve the screen issue, it may be a hardware problem. Please contact our aftersales service to arrange a product return and factory repair.
● Input "*#*#64663#*#*" into the dial interface to enter the QC test. Adjust and test the color options to check whether the screen returns to normal.
● If this solution does not work, please return your phone for a factory check and repair.
● There might be a fault with the OS, try to restore the phone to its default factory settings. When the phone is powered off, hold the power button and the volume up button together to boot into the phone's Recovery mode. Choose "double wipe" or "double W", i.e. wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition.
● Warning: back up your personal data before the factory reset, as everything will be wiped during the process.
● Your phone might be too close or far from the item being photographed, i.e. beyond the range limit of the camera's focus, so move your phone back into range.
● The camera has set the macro mode, which is only for close up images, set the camera back to the normal/default mode.
● The light condition might not be ideal, being either too bright or too dark. Try to shoot in areas where the light is more even and consistent.
● The subject's color is not strong enough, try to focus with a reference first before capturing.
● Should the above solutions be ineffective, there may be an underlying hardware fault. Please contact our aftersales service to arrange a product return and factory repair.
● It's genuine. There's an easy way to determine its authenticity: Input "*#06#" into the dial interface, a line of numbers will appear – this is the phone's IMEI number. Check whether the number matches the one in the phone settings. The IMEI number printed on the packaging box may be incorrect.
● Alternatively, you can dial Xiaomi customer service to determine whether the handset is genuine.
