The XPG Spectrix S40G RGB
In terms of performance, the S40G uses the PCIe 3.0 x4 interface, along with SLC caching and an internal DRAM buffer, so that the module reaches some of the highest nominal speeds we have seen on a single drive so far (PCIe 3.0 x4 reads are read-only) Bandwidth limited). The S40G line can reach up to 300K / 240K IOPS (4K Random Reads), which is quite fast on paper too. However, ADATA did not mention the controller that reached these speeds. Presumably, the Silicon Motion SM2262EN is used. The various models are offered in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB according to the specifications. The details for the 2TB SSD have not yet been specified.
Away from RGB lighting, the S40G offers a brushed aluminum heat spreader with the XPG name in red on the interface side. Above and below are programmable RGB LEDs that are hidden under a matt diffuser and produce a beautiful RGB glow. Users can adjust lighting patterns, intensity, speed, and more with RGB control software.
Other features include LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check) error correction code technology, which detects and eliminates a wide range of data errors. This is to expect a more accurate transmission and a longer life. There is also E2E (end-to-end) data protection, AES 256-bit encryption and RAID engine support for data security and integrity. ADATA offers a five-year limited warranty and 2 million hours MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure).
