All about the Huawei Mate X: the new modern smartphone foldable and 5G

The Huawei Mate X folds out, unlike what we saw on Samsung's Galaxy Fold. This means that, open, it works as if it were an 8 "tablet (with 8:71 ratio and resolution 2480x2200 pixels). Closed, it features a two-screen "cropped " interface, one on each side of the device, with 6.25 "and 6.6 " — Bigger than Apple's iPhone XS Max.
On the rear screen, which is slightly smaller, the camera sensors and biometric reader are also located in a sidebar. It may seem weird at first glance, but in addition to housing these components, it also helps to hold the tablet with one hand.
There is no notch and the edge is as thin as possible, following the visual identity "Full View " of the manufacturer's displays. Another highlight is portability: it is only about 11mm thick when folded and 5.9 mm in tablet mode.
The Huawei Mate X still comes with a protective case that causes the rear screen (in closed mode) to be fully protected from scratches and scratches.
Foldable screen, but outside
The rear display can be used for specific functions and the rear cameras can be availed on the front side, which increases the quality of the selfies. In addition, the device is already enabled for 5G, the new generation of mobile networks.
The design style is called "Falcon Wing " and brings a sophisticated hinge, able to make the device bend completely and without leaving space between the two closed halves. How did she get that? Huawei has its own patents that allow a hinge with almost 100 components. In addition, the "Power " button and the fingerprint reader are located on the side of the screen.
The battery of 4,500 mAh is already impressive for itself, but it still has a differential of the brand: the SuperCharge, able to bring 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
The processor is the top of the line from Huawei, the Kirin 980, accompanied by the Balong 5000 5G modem. Besides being specialized in artificial intelligence, it also ensures great performance for multitasking, one of the biggest utilities of a foldable smartphone.
In fact, the multitasking of the device is guaranteed with a navigation mode "side by side ", where you can do two completely different tasks in each half of the device in tablet mode — and even interact between them by dragging files from one app to the other.
Availability
The Huawei Mate X comes out for 2,299 euros, which gives about 2600 dollars or 9800 reais — a much higher value than the Galaxy Fold, which was revealed by US $1900. Huawei explained that the price is this because of 5G technology and the changes in the manufacturing that the brand needed to make the appliance possible.
It will be officially released at the end of 2019.
