We should start by saying that the two tablet models are very much similar — in fact, more so than they are different. But we'll get to the few differences the two tablets do have a bit later. Let's start with the things they have in common.

ALLDOCUBE M5S vs. ALLDOCUBE M5: high-end looks at a mid-range price
The first thing that stands out about the M5 tablets is that they pack their functionality into a unibody metal case — which is quite unusual for this price range: most tablets under $200 would opt for plastic or, in the best case scenario, well-processed polycarbonate. So, seeing a full metal body on both the M5s is impressive all on its very own.
The craftsmanship is very solid as well and the tablets end up looking much pricier than they actually are — so, you surely won't be "embarrassed" taking out the tablet at Starbucks right alongside the fancy iPads. Plus, both M5s are quite compact and lightweight measuring 9.5 x 6.76 x 0.34 inches and weighing just about 510 grams.
ALLDOCUBE M5S vs. ALLDOCUBE M5: 2K display vs. full HD
Here's where we spot our very first difference. The M5 comes with an impressive 10.1 inch 2K display — a very nice offer for the modest price tag — and a great visual experience for your media: high-definition clear imagery paired with low power consumption (thanks to the efficient CPU and GPU combo). The screen on the M5S is a bit simpler — it's still 10.1 inches in size but features a more modest resolution of 1920 x 1200. While the lower resolution may be a bummer for some, the full HD OGS display does offer quality media viewing and saves a bit more battery power as a bonus.
ALLDOCUBE M5S vs. ALLDOCUBE M5: looking for more RAM and storage?
Now let's see what the tablets have in store for us under the hood. Both the M5 and the M5S pack the MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core chip paired with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It is a 20nm processor capable of the maximum speed of up to 2.3GHz —this, according to the manufacturer, should be more than enough to play the latest Android games as well as enjoy all of the tablet's other media features in full.
When it comes to memory and storage, here's where the differences come in. The M5 comes with 4GB LPDDR4 of RAM and 64GB eMMC of internal storage. The M5S, on the other hand, sports a slightly more modest offering: 3GB LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB eMMC onboard storage. With that, both devices allow for external storage expansion — up to 128GB on an SD card.
So, basically you are looking at a difference of 1GB in RAM and 32GB in storage — this is not necessarily much, but it does make a difference in everyday use especially if you enjoy having many apps open at the same time and keeping an extensive media library right on your tablet.
In all other aspects, you've guessed it, the tablets are identical. You get the same camera setup on both tablets: a 2.0MP front camera and a 5.0MP rear camera for face to face chats and snapping those quick memories if you don't have another camera handy. Both support dual band Wi-Fi as well as 4G connectivity — an important selling point for those who prefer working (gaming, video watching, etc.) on the go.
ALLDOCUBE M5S vs. ALLDOCUBE M5: the verdict
The ALLDOCUBE M5S (full HD screen, 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM) comes with the price tag of $135.99 (this includes a 22% discount in action now on GearBest). The slightly upgraded ALLDOCUBE M5 (2K screen, 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM) will ask you for a bit more — $165.99 (including a 25% discount). Based on the spec differences we've listed above, you should be able to easily see which model would work best for you. The price gap, though there, is not that big of an issue as well — especially if you make up your mind while the promo lasts.
