The future Epyc Rome processors in 32 and 64 core versions are benchmarked before their official announcement in a few months

AMD Epyc Rome in 32 and 64 core

After a first generation that has found its place in a market largely dominated by Intel solutions, Epyc server processors will be proposed in a new generation, codename Rome, with the particularity of a Zen architecture 2 engraved in 7 nm and a configuration mixing chiplets in 7 nm and communication component in 14 nm.

Officially expected in the third quarter of 2019 but already present in several projects including some supercomputers, Epyc Rome processors are already in benchmarks.

Versions with 32 cores / 64 threads and 64 cores / 128 threads appeared in the SiSoft Sandra database and provide some preliminary information.

The 64-core version seems to run with a reference rate of 1.4 GHz and a transition to 2.2 GHz in Turbo mode, even if this is a prototype whose values could evolve once finalized, takes over the Wccftech site.

The TDP is not known but this processor should offer strong performance by positioning itself among the highest values of the ranking.

The processor Epyc Rome 32 cores for its part a base rate of 1.7 GHz and goes to 2.4 GHz in Turbo mode, according to the data of the benchmark. Again, the TDP is not known but the input refers to a presence in a Dell server.
