AMD Ryzen 5 3600 - photos of the new infrared processor
By Sigismondo Eisenhower 2019-07-20 3257 0
Fritzchens Fritz, who has already published interesting visualizations of chipsets (e.g. Ryzen 5 2600), showed off his photos of the new processor. This time we are dealing with infrared photographs - the Ryzen 5 3600 model was immortalized here after removing the heat sink and grinding the surface of silicon nuclei.
The photographed processor is equipped with two chipslets - the larger one is 12 nm cIOD kernel (I/O Die) responsible for input/output interfaces, and the smaller one is 7 nm CCD kernel (Core Chiplet Die) with eight Zen cores 2 and 32 MB L3 cache. The pictures perfectly illustrate the structure of both circuits.
On the printed question you can also find a place for a second CCD chip, which can be found in more complex units - 12-core Ryzen 9 3900X and 16-core Ryzen 9 3950X.
