AMD Ryzen 9 3850X will have 16 cores

According to him, he managed to obtain an engineering sample of the processor AMD Ryzen 9. Like the current designs of the family Ryzen, the unit has two CCX clusters. However, in the case of the 14 nm technology and its derivative, 12 nm, each cluster contains "only" four cores. However, at 7 nm, due to significantly increased density, the number of executive resources doubles.
Eight cores in CCX is a sure thing.
After last year's Next Horizon7 conference we know that the Zen 2 microarchitecture actually assumes the presence of eight cores in the cluster. The question was, how will the Reds benefit from it. They could stay at a maximum of eight cores, creating Ryzenes from one CCX instead of two. This is a good way to reduce production costs. However, all the signs in the sky indicate that the manufacturer is going for the whole. Earlier they were talking about the same thing on "Adored TV".
The copy of "Apisak" is said to have a base clock of 3.3 GHz and a turbo of 4.2 GHz. But - in his opinion - it is a sample so early that the clock can still increase. This does not preclude earlier reports of "Adored TV", where two 16-core models have been specified: Ryzen 9 3850X with 4.3 - 5.1 GHz, and Ryzen 9 3800X with 3.9 - 4.7 GHz.
High but reasonable power consumption
All the more so because the other information is confirmed. This is a TDP of between 125 and 135 W. The current flagship, the eight-core Ryzen 7 2700X has a TDP 105 W. Yes, the reduced lithography does its job, but all the time we have to remember about the doubled number of cores. Which in turn would confirm the rumors that the top processors from the Ryzen 3000 series will be energy-intensive systems. (And maybe that's why motherboard manufacturers don't particularly want to promise everyone compatibility with cheaper models in advance.)
Of course - assuming that the above information is true - the proportional increase in cores applies to each price category and there should be no lack of cheaper proposals. The new Ryzen 7 could have 12 cores and the new Ryzen 5 - eight. Looking at the way CCXs have been "cut" so far.
