Android Q: The Android 10 update will reach these phones
By Adeline Kuang 2019-05-09 718 0
Android Q, also known as Android 10, is now available in beta and its official update will arrive soon and there are already compatible phones with the update.
The next version of Android, currently known as Android Q or Android 10 , will be officially released as an update in the third quarter of 2019, offering improvements in security, new gestures, dark mode, Live Caption , native compatibility with 5G and folding phones, among other novelties.
Currently, you can update phones to Android Q beta, but for the time being it is advisable to wait because as it is still in the testing phase you will still find frequent errors. If you decide to download Android Q beta, I would recommend that you do it on a cell phone other than the one you use as the main one.
The process of releasing the Android Q update
Android Q has already had beta versions and three more are still missing before the final version arrives in the third quarter of 2019.
This is the path or process of Android Q or Android 10 before reaching the final version, which will be released as an official update to all kinds of cell phones.
The release varies greatly depending on the device and has changed a bit since last year with Android Pie , probably thanks to the new modularity introduced by Android Oreo (Android 8.0) to allow updates to be simpler and not so dependent on the update of drivers of chip manufacturers and components in cell phones. However, some companies have remained constant since versions such as Android came Nougat Y Marshmallow .
The companies that released Android Pie most quickly last year include Essential (with the Essential Phone), OnePlus and HMD Global (Nokia), followed by companies such as Sony and Xiaomi.
LG, HTC and Motorola were not far away, while Samsung and Huawei took longer to release the Android Q update.
Why Android updates take so much time and do not reach all users at once?
Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the world , and that complicates things a bit.
Just think of the different Android phones that are around the world (there are millions). Not all have the same screen size, the same processor or the same components, and there are often modifications to optimize them for different markets or regions.
This means that each manufacturer has to optimize and make the appropriate modifications for the operating system to work properly in each of the cell phone models.
In addition, it is necessary that the manufacturers of different components update the drivers of these to work properly with Android.
Also, working and enabling an update also means time and money, so each manufacturer evaluates this to see if it is really worth releasing the update of the new flavor of Android.
On the other hand, updates may also require approvals from Google and operators, something that delays the process. It is for these and other reasons that not all of us receive each update at the same time.
