Apex legends attracts cybercriminals
In a previous article, we explained that several Android applications called "Apex legends" were available on the Google play. Clever little ones thought it best to place themselves on this keyword by offering guides or fake games. But what the security company CheckPoint has discovered goes further. Indeed, the company indicates that it has found the first malicious mobile application that calls itself Apex legends.
This fake application hides an adware Downloader: by displaying advertisements to users, the creators of the application could raise pretty sums of money. However, checkpoint also States that this type of application could have been used to download malicious software to the victims ' smartphones.
Players are expecting a mobile version of Apex legends
To attract players to this false mobile version of Apex legends, hackers had a well-run method: several tutorials on YouTube claimed to use the application in question and sent back to the download page of the latter.
But most importantly, there is currently a real demand from users for an Android and iOS version of Apex legends. And while waiting for an official version, hackers are easier to trick players.
Let's recall that Apex legends has been incredibly successful since its release. The Battle Royale game never ceases to beat records and would have attracted no less than 25 million players in 7 days. No wonder this success is envious and attracts people who are ill-intentioned. In the meantime, we repeat: there is not yet an Android or iOS app from apex legends.
