Apple Apps steal user’s data

The paper's reporter found from an ongoing privacy experiment that some iOS apps use the feature to send data to tracking companies on a regular basis when background apps are allowed to refresh, according to The Washington Post.
It is reported that these tracking procedures can collect a wide range of data, and can accurately locate sensitive information, such as: E-mail, telephone numbers, IP addresses and the exact location of users. When the phone is resting, these trackers use the iphone's Background app refresh feature to secretly transfer users ' personal data to third-party tracking companies.
The experiment found that in a week-long test, a total of 5,400 trackers were found, and most of these trackers were in the application, and the transmission of data over one months could reach 1.5GB. The only thing to be thankful for is that not all of these data collections are malicious, and some data collections, although conducted anonymously, are deleted after a certain amount of time.
According to the report, tracking apps have been found on many popular apps, including Microsoft's OneDrive, Intuit's Mint, Nike, Spotify, weather channel, the Washington post and Yelp. One of the most surprising off-site apps, DoorDash, was found to have nine tracking programs installed.Although DoorDash said it would not sell or share data with third parties, it was not responsible for the privacy of its physical users under its privacy policy.
At present, although it has not been found that these third-party companies will use these secretly transmitted user data to do some illegal activities, but such results are always reassuring, and Apple, as the publisher of iOS programs, has an inescapable responsibility to protect user privacy. Yet it turns out that Apple doesn't seem to be playing its part.
