ASUS Adol laptop: built for travel — incline, fingerprint unlock and backlit keyboard
The ASUS Adol aims to be super convenient when traveling. It measures just 12.01 x 7.72 x 0.7 inches and weighs a mere 125 grams. With that, the laptop houses a nice 13.3 inch full HD screen with ultra thin bezels (just 4.3mm) resulting in an impressive screen to front panel ratio of 90%. But there is a price to pay for the immersive display experience: there is no front cam on the laptop and you will need to hook up external equipment for face to face chats.
Another feature of note about the laptop is the 2.47-degree incline. When you have the laptop open, the ErgoLift system will ensure a light incline making typing and working on the laptop for long periods of time more convenient — plus, there is the benefit of better heat dissipation.
The keyboard itself is backlit with 1.4mm key travel — a great option for working on-the-go. There is fingerprint identification for quickly unlocking the laptop as well as keeping your private data safe and secure should your computer ever wind up in the wrong hands.
ASUS Adol laptop: power efficient with Windows 10 OS
As we've mentioned above, the laptop sports the Intel Core i3-8130U Dual Core CPU speeding up to the maximum of 3.4GHz. This is a low voltage platform built for maximum efficiency with minimal burden on the battery. Thus, you are promised a smooth no-lag performance when working, enjoying your media or indulging in some gameplay without having your laptop plugged in.
Speaking of the battery, the ASUS Adol comes with the 3-cell li-ion battery lasting for over 12 hours of uninterrupted use. Moreover, you get the benefits of the fast charging option — you will be able to get your laptop from 0% to 60% in under 50 minutes.
For gaming, you get the Intel GMA UHD 620 Integrated graphics GPU — note that this is the same for both the Intel Core i3-8130U and the Intel i7-8550U while the Intel i5-8250U sports the Nvidia MX150 discrete GPU.
On the RAM side, you've got 4GB to play with — quite enough for everyday multitasking. With that, the laptop offers 256GB of storage, quite enough for keeping your favorite media on the laptop including games and movies.
You get nice connectivity as well. First, the HDMI output expands your viewing options by hooking up the laptop to an HDTV or a high-def monitor and letting your media escape the limitations of the laptop's 13.3 inch screen.
There are also USB connectors (one USB 2.0, USB 3.1 type A and USB 3.1 type C) and a headphone jack. There is an also an SD card reader to further expand your storage options. Thanks to Bluetooth 4.2, you also get efficient communication with a variety of wireless devices like wireless headsets, speakers, etc.
Software-wise, you will be working with the familiar and user-friendly Microsoft Windows 10 OS, a great fit for both professional and entertainment purposes.
ASUS Adol laptop: the verdict
The ASUS Adol laptop with the Intel i3-8130U CPU can be yours for the rather modest price of $761.70 (the upgraded Intel Core i5-8250U and Intel Core i7-8550U versions with 8GB of RAM will cost you over $1,000). For the price, you do get quite a lot: a powerful processor, a full HD 13.3 inch screen, ultra slim design, a travel-friendly backlit keyboard with an incline, a fingerprint scanner, Windows 10 and more. The ASUS Adol is a great option for a travel laptop and have everything one needs for working on-the-go without being weighed down. Plus, it comes in a beautiful champagne gold.
