Bose 700 Noise Cancelling Headphones: is it the alternative for QC35 and QC35 II

In the fall of 2017, Bose introduced the Quiet Comfort 35 II (QC35 II)*, the first headphones with an integrated Google Assistant button. Now an alternative for the noise-suppressing and wireless overhead headphones, which are also popular with tech workers, is in the starting blocks. According to Bose, the so-called Noise-Cancelling Headphones 700 will offer a slightly improved noise reduction.
Noise-canceling headphones 700: noise reduction in 11 steps
In addition, the Noise-Cancelling Headphones 700 allow users to switch between complete noise suppression and complete environmental perception in eleven stages. The possibility of making phone calls or giving voice commands in noisy environments has also been optimized. Bose has installed a new system with four microphones in the headphones for this purpose. This will automatically adapt to the environment and isolate the user's voice from other sounds.
The prerequisite for telephoning or video chatting is, of course, the connection to a corresponding device such as a smartphone, tablet or notebook. This is done as usual via Bluetooth. There is a separate button for connecting to digital voice assistants. Users can use the corresponding functions of the smartphone or the Bose music app provided by Bose. Thanks to multipoint technology, the headphones can also be connected to two devices. Playback and other functions can be controlled by touching the new touch surface on the front of the right earpiece.
The headphones measure 20.3 x 16.5 x 5.1 centimetres and weigh around 250 grams. Bose indicates a Bluetooth range of up to 10 metres. Once recharged, the battery should last up to 20 hours. The charging process takes 2.5 hours. In fast charging mode, 15 minutes are sufficient for a further 3.5 hours.
Noise-canceling headphones 700 with AR support
The new Noise-Cancelling Headphones 700 support Bose's Augmented Reality platform. This should allow users to interact more with the environment. Depending on the user's location and movement, specific audio content is to be provided. However, the AR functions currently only work with iOS functions. According to Bose, he is still working on Android support.
Bose will bring the Noise-Cancelling-Headphones 700 in the end of June for 399.95 euro into the trade.
Correction: The noise cancelling headphones 700 are not designed as successors to the QC35 II. The latter remain on the market, as Bose t3n announced. We have adapted the article accordingly.
