BSIDE FWT11 LAN cable tracker is a powerhouse DIY tool. It is great for all DIY and tech heads. A powerful and multifunctional handheld cable testing tool, it works perfectly when RJ11 RJ45 cable is on power.

Enjoying broad compatibility with many reinforced cable types and boasting multiple functions, it’s an essential testing tool for telecommunication engineering, wiring engineering, and network maintenance personnel.

General Technical Parameters

●​ Operating temperature: 0 to 40° C, maximal 80 percent relative humidity (non-condensing)

Main Functions:

●​ Wire tracing: RJ11, RJ45, cables or other metal wire (via adapter). Easy and fast to locate the break point without opening the cover of wire.

●​ Network cable collation: judge short-circuits, breaking circuit, open circuit and crossing.

●​ Test line level, positive and negative polarity.

●​ Status of telephone line checking: test the working status of telephone line (idle, ringing, and off-hook) and judge TIP and RING line.

●​ Check wire continuity.

 

Function 1: Wire tracing

This function is capable of finding the required line pairs quickly among numerous ones. It’s compatible with RJ45 network cable terminals and RJ11 telephone line terminals.

●​ Turn the transmitter's rotary knob to SCAN position.

●​ Connect one end of tested line to the corresponding terminal of transmitter.

●​ Scan indication light on means the transmitter starts to send signal to tested wire.

●​ Power on the receiver.

●​ Hold receiver and press "SCAN" button to test the other end of the tested wire.

Then compare the sound sent by receiver. The wire with the loudest sound close to probe will be the target.

 

 

Function 2: Network cable collation

This tests the physical connection status of network cable, e.g. open circuit, short connection, miswire and reverse connection.

●​ Turn the transmitter's rotary knob to Network position.

●​ Connect one end of network cable to RJ45 socket of transmitter.

●​ Connect another end of network cable to RJ45 socket of receiver.

●​ Press "TEST" button to start test and line pair indicator lights will tell results.

In a short connection, there will be 2 or more lights on simultaneously on the receiver. The lighting quantity indication the quantity of shorted wires.

In an open circuit, the corresponding line pair indicator light on the receiver will not turn on.

 

 

Function 3: Test line level, positive or negative polarity

●​ Turn the transmitter's rotary knob to TONE position.

●​ Connect RJ11 crystal head terminal of adapter to RJ11 terminal of transmitter.

●​ Clamp the tested wire with a red-black clip.

If telephone wire status indicator light turns red, it means the red clip is positive and the black end is negative. If it turns green, it means the red clip end is negative and black end is positive.

 

Function 4: Continuity checking

●​ Turn the transmitter's function rotary knob to CONT position.

●​ Connect RJ11 crystal head terminal of adapter to RJ11 terminal of transmitter.

●​ Clamp the red and black clip to the two ends of the tested wire.

If the "CONT" light is on, that indicates the wire is continuous. The less the line impedance, the less bright the light will be.
