Canon EOS 90D review: strong burst of high pixels and fast continuous shooting.

Unlike Canon, which is working hard on full-frame microcameras this year, they are developing EOS R systems and new RF lenses while also taking into account the EOS SLR series. Are there fewer people using SLR cameras? In fact, not necessarily, many friends who are used to the traditional optical viewfinder still love SLR cameras. That's why we can see new products for SLR cameras today. S Jun himself is also a natural SLR camera enthusiast. The EOS 90D is a sequel to the EOS 80D. If you know anything about the two-digit Canon SLR camera, you should know that this is definitely a high-performance product.
Canon EOS 90D boxes are always red and white (red on both sides). Anti-counterfeiting disposable label is one of the identification signals of Canon authentic products, consumers must pay attention when buying. There are three options for the matching lens of the EOS 90D set (18-55mm and 18-135mm and 18-200mm), and what we get is the EF-S 18-135mm fram 3.5mur5.6 IS USM version.
Canon EOS 90D shape is a very orthodox SLR shape, all-magnesium alloy body is strong and solid, dust-proof and splash-proof. This time it uses a 32.5 million-pixel APS-C frame sensor combined with a powerful DIGIC 8 image sensor, which is the first APS-C frame camera in the world to exceed 30 million pixels. It is inevitable that high pixels bring more fine picture quality, which we will discuss below. The weight of the card contains only 701g, which is in line with the normal performance of the SLR camera, and the grip is still comfortable.
On the back of the Canon EOS 90D, you can see the familiar 3.15-inch, 2.1 million-point rotatable liquid crystal display. When flip and close the lid, S Jun vaguely noticed a small detail, that is, Canon knew that the display would have a great frequency of rotation, so it obviously felt more damped than the EOS 80D or EOS 6D Mark II, which meant it was more durable.
This rotary screen has really been in use since the EOS 60D, and the picture fineness has been upgraded from 1.04 million drawing points to the current 2.1 million drawing points, supporting touch focus and touch shutter. Selfie, overshoot, upside down can all be satisfied, with excellent adaptability. Sure enough, good design often has a long history.
The main control of the machine is determined by the mode turntable, which can not be changed by external force at will, so it can not be rotated at ordinary times, only when the middle "switch" is pressed and pressed. EOS 90D built-in flash, in many dark environments, built-in flash can play a good role in replenishing light.
One of the major features of SLR cameras is the optical viewfinder. With no time delay and 100% field of view, all camera parameters can be observed in the viewfinder, and the photo range of the whole machine is greatly improved because of the optical viewfinder. This is the most important reason why S Jun loves SLR cameras. At the same time, the EOS 90D is equipped with about 220000 pixel RGB+ infrared photometric sensor to achieve EOS iTR AF (face first) tracking shooting performance.
Incidentally, the EOS 90D uses the same full 45-point cross focusing sensor as the EOS 80D, which is an autofocus system that can correspond to F2.8, F4 and F5.6 beams to achieve faster and more accurate focusing. When you switch to real-time viewfinder mode, the focus area changes to a vertical 100% horizontal range of 88%, with 5481 focus positions, and still supports full-pixel dual-core CMOS AF and even provides a continuous shooting speed of 11 shots per second, which can be simply expressed as a more powerful real-time viewfinder mode.
In terms of body buttons, compared with the EOS 80D, there is a brand new "multi-function control button 1", which is what we call the rocker. When it is set to directly select the automatic focus, you can take the view on the optical viewfinder while the right thumb can operate to choose the focus, which is very convenient and fast. Of course, the direction keys on the speed control turntable are still retained, and the double multi-function control buttons provide the photographer with the best operation feel.
Canon EOS 90D is equipped with the shoulder screen of mid-and high-end SLR. This shoulder screen has also been retained since the EOS 60D, and the lighting function is a continuing tradition to facilitate the observation of parameters during night operation. As can be seen from the shoulder screen, the EOS 90D has a maximum mechanical shutter of 1100,8000s, an electronic shutter of 16000s when needed, and a native ISO range of 100mm 25600. Bluetooth and WiFi dual-function transmission equipment, you can transfer photos to your smartphone at any time on the road.
Because more and more people like to shoot videos with SLR, the microphone and headphone interface EOS 90D is properly equipped, the shutter line interface is for long exposure users, and the USB and HDMI interfaces are open for studio users. So the interface is quite complete.
For external memory cards, the EOS 90D is in the form of a single SD card slot, and this SD supports USH-II specifications and is compatible with UHS-I. S Jun feels that when the pixels of the camera are higher and the continuous shooting is faster, then a higher amount of data writing is inevitable. The traditional low-speed SD card will certainly not be able to meet this camera.
The Canon EOS 90D uses a LP-E6N battery with a capacity of 1865mAh. If you shoot with only an optical viewfinder, the range is very strong, with a range of about 1860 shots. Next we begin to review performance and functionality.
