Creative Technology has announced the sale of its most advanced PCIe sound cards to date: Sound Blaster AE-9 and Sound Blaster AE-7.

In the corresponding press release the manufacturer reminds that the first Sound Blaster sound card was released in 1989, "permanently changing the sound of the PC". Since then, more than 400 million Sound Blaster cards have been sold, and the name itself has become synonymous with high quality sound cards.

The Sound Blaster AE-9 is the new flagship of the line. It uses the ESS 9038 SABRE-class DAC, which provides a dynamic range of 129 dB, digitization using PCM with 32-bit data representation and a sampling rate of 384 kHz, and stream reproduction in DSD64 format. The card is designed with Nichicon Fine-Gold and WIMA capacitors and operating amplifiers in connectors.

According to the manufacturer, the key difference between Sound Blaster AE-9 and competitors is CleanLine technology - "a new breakthrough in microphone channel filtering for uncompromising voice quality. This technology eliminates power noise problems by eliminating the need for an external mixer.

The Sound Blaster AE-7 uses a 9018 ESS SABRE-class DAC with a dynamic range of 127 dB. This card also supports digitization using PCM with 32-bit data presentation and a sampling rate of 384 kHz, and playback of data in DSD64 format. The non-linear distortion rate is 0.0001%.

Both cards use Sound Blaster technology, which provides a high level of realism with 5.1 and 7.1 virtualization and Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect encoding. The card includes a "fully discrete Xamp headphone amplifier" and external control modules are included, with the AE-9 module equipped with a display, headphone impedance selection switch, a multi-function +48V phantom microphone input and an integrated amplifier.

Both new products are due to appear on sale in August this year. Model Sound Blaster AE-9 will cost approximately 26 000 rubles, and Sound Blaster AE-7 - 16 000 rubles.
