Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 Release: with Intel's 10th generation Core processor

By  Daniel Camilo 2019-05-29 269 0

At this year's CES show, the upgraded version of the Dell XPS 13 finally moved the webcam back to the forehead; at the recent Computex 2019 conference, Dell brought the same improvements to the XPS 15 and XPS 13 2-in-1 models. . One of the brightest is the newly designed XPS 13 2-in-1, equipped with the much-anticipated Intel 10th generation Ice Lake processor, a new screen and an enhanced keyboard.

On the processor side, the XPS 13 2-in-1 is equipped with an Intel Ice Lake processor based on a 10nm manufacturing process and replaces the previous Y-series processor with a more powerful U-series. This means a 2.5x performance boost, but as a sacrifice, Dell added a fan to the model.

The XPS 13 2-in-1 is equipped with a 13.4-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10, which increases the screen area by 7% compared to the previous generation. The increase in screen area gives Dell more room to provide a larger keyboard and trackpad. Same as previous models, Dell offers both FHD+ and 4K resolution versions.

The keyboard section was also redesigned to introduce the magnetic suspension button technology of the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1. In addition to other design changes, compared to the previous generation using more metal materials, the fingerprint sensor has been integrated with the keyboard, rather than clumsy placed below. In addition, the webcam was moved to the top of the screen.

In comparison, the upgrade of XPS 15 is not worth paying attention to. In addition to the webcam also moved to the top of the screen, Dell offers Intel's ninth-generation Core processor (with i5, i7 and i9 options), NVIDIA's new GTX 1650 GPU and up to 64GB of RAM, plus a new 4K OLED Panel options.

The date of sale of the two products has not been announced. However, the regular version of the XPS 15 is priced at $999.99, while the OLED panel is priced at $1899.99.
