Disney launches Netflix jugular - Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99.

The streaming war hasn't officially started, but Disney isn't afraid to show its cards and in fact takes advantage of Netflix's recent price increase and its loss of subscribers in the U.S. to launch a tremendous bomb that you could already see coming from afar. This is a package that will include Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ for $12.99 per month, the same price as the standard Netflix package in the United States.

It should be noted here that at the moment we are talking about the United States, since so far no details have been given of Disney's plans to launch its streaming platforms in other regions of the world. However, these moves give us clues to the strategy they are adopting, where they seek to win the streaming market.

Today during a call to investors, Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, confirmed that this November 12, when Disney+ will be launched in the United States, they will also launch a bundle that will include its three streaming platforms for a monthly fee of 12.99 dollars.

This bundle will include Disney+, which will cost 6.99 dollars individually, Hulu, in its version with ads that have a price of 5.99 dollars, and ESPN+ of 4.99 dollars. That is to say, when hiring the three services in package you will save almost 5 dollars.

Now, if we make a comparison with some of the most relevant platforms that there are, and that will arrive, in the United States, the panorama is as follows

During the Iger conference, he was asked about the international expansion of their platforms, and confirmed that "for the moment there is nothing to announce", as they are now focused on the launch in the United States. The issue of licenses for sports as well as for the programs and movies that Disney+ and Hulu will have are negotiated separately around the world.

Iger also commented that Disney+ is right now "the most important product that the company has launched in its mandate" and that once the launch arrives, it is likely to be available in "Amazon, Apple and other distributors", however, they have not yet closed any agreement with any of these companies.

He also mentioned again that Disney+ will have exclusive recent films such as 'Aladdin', 'The Lion King', 'Captain Marvel' and 'Avengers: Endgame', as well as exclusive series of both Star Wars and Marvel and of course Disney and Pixar. On the other hand, he announced that ESPN+ will have access to MLB, NHL and MLS games, Grand Slam tennis, PGA Tour golf, international rugby, the complete ESPN Films library and now also the UFC fights.
