DJI Osmo Mobile 3 is the best smartphone stabilizer for iPhone

Small folding body that fits in your pocket
DJI Osmo Mobile 3's biggest feature is portability. This product can be folded from the base of the arm, and it is 285 x 125 x 103 mm in the unfolded state, but it is very compact at 157 x 130 x 46 mm in the folded state. If it is a slightly larger jumper, it will feel like a pocket.
Moreover, despite the built-in 2450mAh battery that can be driven for about 15 hours, it weighs about 405g. It can be said that the weight is not a burden even if you carry it in your bag every day.
Concentration on "combo”
The DJI Osmo Mobile 3 Includes the main body, power cable, storage pouch, wrist strap, and non-slip pad, and an Osmo grip tripod and Osmo carry case. Two types of "Osmo Mobile 3 combo" are available.
Sure, the Osmo carry case is a hard case that is just the size of a genuine one, but it's still a bit bulky. Personally, I think that a storage pouch is enough unless you carry it too roughly. If you put it in a bag with a divider, you don't even need a storage pouch.
Also, the Osmo grip type tripod is about 14cm in length and about 72g in weight and is compact and lightweight, but there are many inexpensive products from third parties. There is no need to stick to genuine.
Soft & hard UI matured in 3 generations
DJI Osmo Mobile 3 has a sophisticated software and hardware user interface for the 3rd generation only. The shooting screen of the dedicated shooting software "DJI Mimo” has buttons for shutter, shooting mode switching, in-camera/out-camera switching, preview, tutorial shooting function "story mode” on the right side, and detailed camera settings on the left side. An icon is placed. First, master the basic operations on the right side, and then learn the settings on the left side little by little.
It is easy to operate the physical buttons, levers and triggers of DJI Osmo Mobile 3 itself. It may be confusing at first because there are so many, but each control part is placed in a position where fingers can reach naturally. However, "M button” and "Trigger” are assigned different functions depending on the number of times they are pressed, so it may take some time to learn. However, if you shoot for about 30 minutes while trying out each function, you will be able to operate freely.
Basic functions as a camera are arranged on the right side of the screen, and detailed settings are arranged on the left side of the screen. The shutter speed, ISO sensitivity, and exposure are lined up at the bottom of the screen, but it may be difficult to see in bright outdoors due to its small size.
A joystick, shutter / record button, and M button are lined up on the front. Switch to shooting mode by pressing M button once, switch vertical / horizontal to press twice, and standby mode by default.
There is a trigger on the back. Gimbal lock is assigned to the first press of the trigger, re-centering to the second press, and rear / front camera switching is assigned to the third press.
The image quality depends on your smartphone
Now, the quality of the picture is important, but it depends on the smartphone you wear. To be honest, I can't recommend DJI Osmo Mobile 3 to Andorid smartphone users. This is because the dedicated shooting software "DJI Mimo” is available for iOS and Android, but not all functions are implemented for Android. I tried it with "Xperia 1" and "Pixel 3 XL" this time, but the video frame rate could not be set to 60fps.
Therefore, if you want to shoot at 60fps, you need to use the standard smartphone camera app. However, in that case, DJI Osmo Mobile 3 functions as a stabilizer, but it is not possible to use the shutter / record button, M button to switch shooting modes, or trigger to switch the rear / front camera.
Since many products are released for Android smartphones, it may be difficult to handle all of them, but at least the latest models from major manufacturers are expected to support full functionality.
When zooming, the iPhone XS Max has a stable image, but Xperia 1 is worried about flicker. There is also a phenomenon that the resolution is extremely reduced during zooming.
New shooting function brings fun!
OM can take full advantage of the performance of DJI Osmo Mobile 3 at the moment, but the new features in DJI Osmo Mobile 3 are fun without complaint. First of all, I would like to introduce "Story Mode” for shooting short videos and sharing them to SNS. Several templates are available, so you can easily shoot and share short movies with BGM tailored to your theme. It is really easy because it is automatically edited immediately after shooting.
This is a template called "dynamic”. It is possible to create a short movie with an impact by rotating the screen.
"Gesture operation” is a function for enjoying selfies comfortably. If DJI Osmo Mobile 3 is installed on the ground, a bench, a table, etc., and the palm is pointed from a distant place, it will adjust the position around the user's face before taking photos and videos. For video shooting, "ActiveTrack 3.0” that tracks the subject is available, and the movement is traced almost accurately even if the user walks around. It can be useful when shooting selfie videos that introduce the surrounding scenery and facilities.
The countdown starts when the palm of the hand is turned on, and during video recording, "ActiveTrack 3.0” keeps track of the user's face as the center.
Conclusion:Perfect for those who want to carry a stabilizer
Recent camera cameras of the middle range and above have an optical image stabilization mechanism, which combines electronic image stabilization when shooting movies, and it significantly reduces shaking, but still a physical stabilizer. Does not have that effect. DJI Osmo Mobile 3 is a great choice for those who want to carry a stabilizer compactly and always carry it around.
