Fuji GFX 100: Official Presentation May 23, 2019

With APS-C and medium format cameras to success
Fujifilm deliberately takes a different approach than Canon, Nikon, Sony and Panasonic. The manufacturer deliberately avoids the highly competitive field of mirrorless full-frame cameras and instead tries to convince with first-class APS-C cameras and medium format cameras. Especially in the segment of medium format cameras, the competition is also manageable and Fujifilm is trying to win new customers with ever more compact cameras and lower prices.
However, the latest mirrorless medium format camera should convince neither with compact dimensions nor with a low price, on the contrary. Rather, the Fuji GFX 100 is to become the flagship of the series and score with outstanding image quality and impressive specifications.
GFX 100: The final release date
The Fuji GFX 100 was already announced at the photokina 2018 last September, but now it seems to be certain when the final presentation of the camera will take place. The Fujirumor website reports that the GFX 100 is to be finally presented on May 23, 2019. We'll probably have to wait about three more weeks until Fujifilm reveals all the details of the new DSLM. And maybe there will be new information on upcoming lenses for the GFX series on May 23rd.
So far, the GFX 100 is known to work with a resolution of 102 megapixels, using a phase-detection autofocus and a 5-axis image stabilizer, and that video in 4K will record at 30 fps in 10 bits. The price of the new medium format camera should be around 10,000 euros.
