Huawei Kirin 985 and Apple A13: TSMC starts mass production

The first models with the new chips from TSMC could then be the Kirin 985 for the Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the Apple A13 for the iPhone 11. In 2018, Huawei and Apple were also faster than Qualcomm and Co and were able to deliver the first 7nm SoCs by the end of 2018. The competition followed only now in spring 2019 and so it should be in this case.

By the way, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro already had a message in March that fits and if you're wondering what the current situation is like: TSMC will continue to produce for Huawei. ARM is out, but I guess today's announcement was for the public only, Huawei and Apple will have received this information much sooner.
In the end it doesn't help, because without Android and Co it looks bad, but it's also about planning and production. A model like the Huawei Mate 30 Pro is not planned in 2 weeks and even if it is not yet clear where the journey is going, Huawei should continue to work on it.
By the way, TSMC also announced that the first 5nm chips are already being produced as a test and that mass production is expected to start in June 2020. The next generation of processors is therefore likely to experience a somewhat greater leap in performance again.
