This year's MWC is wonderful. After Samsung released its first folding screen smartphone - Samsung Galaxy Fold, Huawei also released its folding smartphone Huawei Mate X at the MWC 2019 conference in Barcelona. Both smartphones can be used as a tablet when they are unfolded. And both of them support 5G network and comes with an expensive price. Then what’s the differences between the two? Let’s find out.

Huawei Mate X vs.Samsung Galaxy Fold: specs

Let’s compare the main specs of the two folding screen smartphones side by side.

the main specs of the two folding screen smartphones

Galaxy Fold has a small screen outside and a large screen inside, while Mate X uses an external screen in three different ways. It will deform according to the way you hold the device. Samsung's mobile phone is equipped with a 4G or 5G network and six cameras. Mate X has four cameras (rear three-camera design) and 5G. Galaxy Fold's hinges will not be fully flattened, which is where Huawei has demonstrated its strength.

Different folding screen scheme

Huawei Mate X and Samsung Galaxy Fold have different folding schemes, among which Galaxy Fold takes the form of a book, with its largest screen inside and protected by an external "cover". Samsung also has a small screen on one of its "covers" for daily use.

Huawei took the opposite approach, with the screen next to the frame. The advantage is that a screen can be used like three screens, depending on the way you hold the phone.
