Huawei held a new product release conference in Changsha, Hunan province on Dec.17. One of the blockbuster products at the launch event is Huawei Nova 4. As Huawei’s first smartphone adopting the hole-punch design display, it is a pretty new smartphone mainly designed for young people.

Huawei Nova 4 review

Huawei Nova 4 comes with a 6.4-inch screen with 2310 x 1080 pixels. It adopts the innovative in-display cut-out technology, making the screen to body ratio reach 86.3%. The standout feature of the Huawei Nova 4 is the pioneering hole-punch solution, which is equipped with a small front camera (3.05mm) on the top left, bringing you real full screen visual experience.

Better yet, Huawei official said that the hole-punch display of Huawei Nova 4 can be compatible with most popular Apps, and it will not bring you any obtrusive sense at all.   


Despite the innovative hole-punch display, Huawei Nova 4 is also equipped with 25MP front camera, which can create excellent post level selfie. Besides, it also supports AI micro truing beauty that can intelligently recognize 7 kinds of face models and naturally correct different facial contours.

At the same time, the high end version of the Huawei Nova 4 is equipped with the latest Sony IMX586 processor that supports 48MP with 8000x6000 resolution. The specific specs of the rear camera are: 48MP ultra wide angle triple cameras which consists of 16MP ultra wide angle lens (f/2.2), 48MP HD camera (f/1.8), and 2MP bokeh lens (f/2.4).  


In terms of the specs, the Huawei Nova 4 is no worse than the mainstream flagship phones on the market. It is equipped with Kirin 970 processor, and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM large memory combo, which can support many Apps running at the same time. Besides, it is also equipped with brand-new upgraded GPU Turbo technology.


Huawei Nova 4 has 4 color options. Huawei Nova 4 with 20MP main camera version sells at 3099 CNY (about $449) in China, and the high-end version with 48MP main camera sells at 3399 CNY (about $492). It will officially go on sale on Dec.27 in China.     


Huawei Enjoy 9 review

On the Huawei Nova 4 launch event, Huawei also released anothersmartphone - Huawei Enjoy 9. The Huawei Enjoy 9 comes with 6.26-inch display with 1520×720 resolution. The screen to body ratio is up to 86.7%. The back panel has the texture of ceramic, which feelssmooth and delicate.

The Huawei Enjoy 9 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, and it has two memory options: 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM. In terms of camera, it has an 8MP front camera that supports AI face recognition, and 13MP + 2MP dual rear cameras that support AI scene recognition.

The Huawei Enjoy 9 has 4 color options. The 3GB + 32GB version is priced at 999 CNY (about $145), and the 4GB + 64GB version is priced at 1299 CNY (about $188).


Huawei MateBook 13 review

Another new product on the Huawei Nova 4 launch event is Huawei MateBook 13. It has a 13-inch IPS screen with 2160x1440 resolution. The MateBook 13 inherits the features of Huawei’s high-end series products: all-metal body, 88% high screen to body ratio, fingerprint power key, etc.

What’s more, the Huawei MateBook 13 is equipped with the latest Core i7 processor and MX150 discrete graphics, coupled with the 256GB high speed SSD, it can easily meet different usage scenarios, such as office working, game playing, etc.  


The Huawei MateBook 13 has 3 color options, and its price starts from 4999 CNY (about $725).  


Before the ending of the Huawei Nova 4 launch event, He Gang, the president of Huawei's terminal mobile phone product line, announced that the annual global shipment of Huawei smartphones is expected to exceed 200 million. At that time, Huawei will release the Huawei nova 4 anniversary edition.
