Huawei has renewed its Nova series with the Huawei Nova 5 and Huawei Nova 5 Pro. The two smartphones come with very similar specifications, differing only in the processor and memory capacity. For the rest, the company decides to go back to notch and goes from the three cameras we saw in the Nova 4 to a configuration with four back lenses.

Design: From punch hole screen to the water drop notch screen

The Huawei Nova 5 and Huawei Nova 5 Pro come with a 6.39 inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels) and a 19.5:9 screen ratio. Mobiles reach a screen-body ratio of 91% and proof of this is that the frames are barely appreciated.

Huawei has decided to return to notch in the Nova series, something that calls the attention especially after seeing how they introduced the hole in screen in the Huawei Nova 4 thus becoming the first telephone of the company to count on it. Here they pass to the notch in the form of a drop to house the front camera.

In the colours Forest Green (green), Purple (purple), Black (black) and Coral Orange (orange), if we turn the mobile phone around, we find the camera module located vertically, with a striking layout. Just inside the module three sensors, under which the LED flash is located, while the fourth sensor is located just next to the module. Here there is no trace of the fingerprint sensor as it is placed under the screen.

In the photographic section, both mobiles arrive with the same cameras and follow the path initiated by the Huawei P30 Pro with four rear cameras, one of them being a ToF sensor. In total, four lenses in the rear, with a sensor of 48 MP to which it accompanies three others of 16 MP, 2 MP and 2 MP. The selfies is handled by the front camera of 32 MP with f/2.0 aperture and pixels of 1.6 microns. It features artificial intelligence for blur or bokeh effect and HDR+. notch

Processor: Kirin 810 and Kirin 980

The differences between the Huawei Nova 5 and the Huawei Nova 5 Pro come in the processor. For the Nova 5 have reserved the new Kirin 810 that have presented in the same act and focuses on gaming and artificial intelligence. A chip that the company considers "key to the future" and that makes the company the first to have two sets of chips of 7nm. It arrives with an eight-core CPU with 2 x Cortex A77 at 2.27GHz and 6 x Cortex A55 at 1.88GHz and a Mali M52 MP6 GPU.

For its part, the brain of the Huawei Nova 5 Pro is the Kirin 980. In both cases, with GPU Turbo 3.0. Both mobiles come with 8 GB of RAM, but we found differences in internal capacity. Thus, while the normal version arrives with a single option of 128 GB capacity, its big brother does it with two, 128 GB or 256 GB.

The battery is at 3,500mAh with 40W fast charge, which will allow the phone to charge completely in 50 or 60 minutes. In addition, it has EMUI 9.1 as operating system, fingerprint scanner under the screen, artificial intelligence and NFC in the case of the Huawei Nova 5 Pro.
