Huawei Nova 5 leaks: certified in China, but the launch is uncertain

By  Adeline Belluz 2019-05-30 418 0

Huawei Nova 5 returns to the center of rumors - after sightings in mid-May - and does so in one of the most critical periods of the company. Today's news is fresh, showing that the Huawei Ban case is far from being concluded, since the Chinese company is aiming to find a legal solution to the problem.

In this context there is the new sighting of the Nova 5, a smartphone that should position itself on the high end, representing the direct successor of the Nova 4 (which we see at the opening). This time the device has obtained a Chinese ministerial certification, however its launch is anything but certain.

Probably Nova 5 has continued its certification process even in the midst of the criticalities that have hit the Chinese home, but now there are strong doubts about Huawei's ability to be able to bring it into a phase of mass production, given that this would mean engaging part of his stocks.

Added to this is the unknown Google certification: as we have seen, Honor 20 received it, but Honor 20 Pro no. No problem regarding a probable commercialization on Chinese soil, but this would a priori exclude its release in other markets, even in those in Asia where Google services still represent an essential added value.

In short, Huawei Nova 5 is still alive, but it is impossible to express itself about its future.
