Intel Xeon Roadmap leaked: unveils Sapphire Rapids with PCIe Gen 5.0 & DDR5 in 2021

The most ironic thing is that the roadmap in question was presented at a Huawei conference in April of this year, showing that the company had extensive plans to work with Intel in the coming years. And this is just one more of the many problems that the company will face after the US government's restriction this week.
Returning to "Sapphire Rapids", we have a processor with the number of cores not yet disclosed, but that already appeared some features. The DDR5 memory interface comes with 8 channels with 512-bit band, while PCIe 5.0 can double the band from 4.0 to up to 32Gbps per lane.
Despite the little information about the "Sapphire Rapids" generation, the codename of its 2022 successor, "Granite Rapids", has also been leaked, which should be compatible with the same 2P platform, known internally as "Eagle Stream". Since the launch of the processors coincides with Intel's plans to deliver the 7nm and 7nm+ in the segment, this is expected to be the lithography of the components, with a high core count, as a result.
The roadmap also shows us the "Cooper Lake" generation, which arrives in 2020 for 2P and 4P/8P platforms. This release will set the stage by introducing CXL Interconnect beyond traditional PCIe, offering more scalability options for servers. The protocol is important because it will allow the introduction of the PCIe 5.0 specification in the future, which arrives with "Sapphire Rapids" in 2021.
