In 2020, Intel's Xeon processors with high rendering performance for workstations will be replaced. What distinguishes this processor from its previous generations is its high performance in artificial intelligence learning and its 56-core structure.

Intel introduced today the scalable "Cooper Lake" Xeon processors, which it plans to launch in the middle of 2020. Each socket can contain up to 56 cores. The processors will also have an integrated artificial intelligence unit. According to the American processor manufacturer, "Cooper Lake" processors will feature the features of the Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 series, as well as support for artificial intelligence "bfloat16" support.

The new Xeon processor series "Cooper Lake" will offer higher memory bandwidth and higher artificial intelligence training performance compared to the Intel Xeon Platinum 8200 processor. It will also have less power consumption than the Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 series.

About the presentation of the new Xeon series, "Intel Vice President and Data Center Marketing General Manager" Lisa Spelman said:

"As part of the next generation scalable Intel Xeon processor family, the Intel Xeon Platinum 9200 series has created great excitement among our customers who use technology to build high-performance computing and advanced artificial intelligence. The 56-core processors will enable us to serve a much wider range of customers who need more processor performance and memory bandwidth. ”

Earlier this year, Intel announced that "Ice Lake" processors will be available from June. According to Intel today, "Ice Lake" processors will be available by mid-2020 with 10 nm technology.
