iOS 13 enrages millions of iPhone users: many iPhones may not get Apple’s next iOS-13 update

One of the many secrets of the iPhone's success (even if the sales figures no longer reach record values) is the long, fast and uncomplicated support with software updates. While Android users sometimes have to wait over a year until a new version is available for their smartphone, an update to a new iOS version is extremely quick. It will be available for many iPhones and iPads shortly after its release. Even if the devices are a bit outdated. Owners of many relatively new Android smartphones can only dream of this. They often don't even get an update to the latest version. But for the first time this could also threaten many iPhone users.
iOS 13 will be shown at the beginning of June
As reported, Apple will launch the new iOS 13 on June 3, 2019, at the start of its annual WWDC developer conference. Some details about the mobile operating system have already been leaked. Among other things, it will have several innovations for central apps, a practical operating function and a dark mode. At the weekend, a list appeared for the first time showing which iPhones and iPads will no longer receive the new update. And it also includes a pretty recent smartphone.
No update for iPhone SE
The list circulating on the net was leaked to the tech site iPhoneSoft by an Apple developer according to his own statements. Accordingly, iOS 13 is only available for iPhones from the models 6s and 6s Plus. Whoever has an iPhone 5s, 6s/6s Plus or SE would look through his fingers according to this leak. This would be particularly annoying for all Apple customers who own an iPhone SE. After all, the US company only launched this smartphone on the market three years ago. Since then, it has been sold millions of times, mainly because of its comparatively low price and small display. It was only with the launch of the iPhone XR in autumn 2019 that Apple removed the SE from its offering.
bottom line
It will become clear on 3 June whether the list will prove to be true. Should the iPhone SE actually not receive an update to iOS 13, however, many Apple customers will probably turn their backs on the company. For them, the advantage of an excellent supply of new updates would no longer apply. iOS 13 will be released in September 2019 - together with the new iPhone generation (iPhone XI and iPhone XR 2).
