During the MWC 2019 , LG did not submit that the G8 ThinQ , its smartphone with vein detection. The South Korean manufacturer also took the opportunity to present the V50 ThinQ. If the range is accustomed to novelties wacky, it is ultimately the G8 that has marked the spirits with its scanner veins, but the V50 is not traditional so far.
LG V50 ThinQ 5G specification
LG V50 ThinQ is first and foremost presented as the first smartphone 5G brand and therefore serves as a flagship for this technology on all MWC booths 2019. As a result, LG V50 ThinQ is the perfect representative of 2019 and its specification is up to it:
Modem 5G Snapdragon X50
6.4-inch QHD + OLED display
6 GB RAM
128 GB storage
- Standard 12 MP (F1.5 / 1.4μm / 78˚)
- Telephoto 12 Mpx (F2.4 / 1.0μm / 45˚)

We also find the usual fingerprint sensor, facial recognition, certification IP68 and fast charging, but also a Quad-DAC 32-bit and DTS compatibility: X 3D Surround, a specialty of LG.
LG V50 ThinQ screen hinged accessory
But one of the biggest features of LG V50 ThinQ is not the smartphone itself, but its accessory that acts as a second screen. Like Asus on the ROG Phone, LG is launching a protective shell with a 6.1-inch FHD + screen for a wider gaming area.
This accessory is indeed oriented towards the middle of gaming with the ability to display more touch controls and thus simulate a gamepad a little larger. While Samsung and Huawei did not hesitate to unsheathe their foldable smartphones (the Galaxy Fold and Mate X ), LG proposes an alternative here, which nevertheless recalls much more disappointing ZTE Axon million .
LG V50 ThinQ price and release date
Scheduled to arrive in South Korea next Friday (19), the V50 ThinQ 5G had its launch announcement postponed by LG for further maintenance on its internal components. The handset is expected to cost $ 4,079.
According to the company, more work should be done on the integration between the Snapdragon 855 chipset and the Snapdragon X50 5G modem. The manufacturer understands that adjustments are needed to deliver a better user experience.
In this year's MWC, the company said it intends to present 5G smartphones at the end of 2018 or at the beginning of 2019, but followed with a forecast for the end of 2019.
