LG V50 ThinQ: First LG 5G phones
LG company officially introduced its flagship smartphone V50 ThinQ 5G. The novelty in many respects repeats its predecessor, but the main thing is the first model of the company with the support of 5G networks.
This year LG relies not on folding models, the market prospects of which are vague, but on 5G, which is practically "here and now". Therefore, the V50 ThinQ 5G, according to the idea, should offer demanding consumers everything they need: a 5G modem, a flagship SoC, high-quality cameras of five sensors and a decent autonomy. But in fact, this model has little difference from its predecessor V40 ThinQ.
For example, from the predecessor the screen FullVision OLED with the diagonal of 6,4 inches with the resolution of 3120 x 1440 pixels, the front camera, represented by a set of sensors with the resolution of 5 and 8 megapixels, and also the back camera is inherited, consisting of three modules (12-megapixel sensor with a lens with an aperture of F/1.5, 12-megapixel sensor with a telephoto lens with an aperture of F/2.4 and 16-megapixel with a wide-angle lens with an aperture of F/1.9).
LG V50 ThinQ 5G features: processor, storage, size
As already mentioned, the V50 ThinQ 5G is built on a single-chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 platform and is equipped with a Qualcomm X50 modem. With only 6GB of RAM, the built-in flash memory is small for the flagship, 128GB, but at least microSD cards are supported.
The fashion for fingerprint scanners integrated into the screen bypassed the V50 ThinQ 5G by placing it on the back panel. Also, the smartphone has an evaporative chamber for better cooling of components in active mode, support for wireless charging (up to 10 watts), battery capacity of 4000 mAh, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 802.11ac adapters, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C port, a standard headphone jack.
Both panels of the smartphone are protected by hardened glass Gorilla Glass 5, the frame of the device is metal. The smartphone also meets the requirements of the U.S. military standard MIL-STD-810G and is characterized by the degree of protection IP68. Dimensions and weight of the model are 159.2 x 76.1 x 8.3 mm and 183 grams.
Even though the LG does not have a folding smartphone yet, but V50 ThinQ 5G is able to emulate it, being connected to an accessory with a talking name Dual Screen. In fact, it is the second 6.2-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels, which connects to the smartphone via the side contacts. According to the creators' idea, this combination should make it easier for the user to work with several applications simultaneously.
