Mecool KM9 PRO Classic review: budget Android TV OS box

By  Jordan Hobbs 2019-06-17 1191 0

If you're looking for a good TV Box to give your non-smart TV a new lease of life, this Mecool KM9 PRO Classic can get you out of the way, without blowing your wallet up.

The Mecool KM9 PRO Classic has only 2GB of DDR3 RAM, however with the optimisation achieved by upgrading the CPU to Amlogic S905X2, performance is fluid and capable of handling 4K HDR content, supporting a decent range of multimedia formats out of the box:

Mecool KM9 PRO Classic TV box

Codec format: H.263, H.264, H.265, HD MPEG4

Audio Format: AAC, FLAC, MP3, OGG, RM, WMA

Video Format: AVI, DAT, ISO, MKV, MP4, MPEG, RM, WMV

Supports 5.1 Som Surround Drop

Another advantage is the voice-controlled control, which is often sold separately.

"Look what a beautiful shit it must be, a voice control of a Chinese box... it must really understand me very well...", you will say with a completely legitimate and prudent skepticism.

Well, I have some good news for you, my dear: all the Mecool KM9 PRO Classic's voice recognition and processing technology is supported by Google, which means that you can even speak in Portuguese that the box will understand you.

Personally I'm not a big fan of talking to the scenes, I think the technology still has a lot to evolve before it becomes really nice. I don't like repeating the silly phrase 3 or 4 times until they understand me, but some people like it.

If you're a fan of this kind of interaction, you can even ask questions like "what's the weather like tomorrow?" or "what's the square root of 81" and the artificial intelligence assistant will do his best to help you.

The Android 9.0 box runs, which gives you access to Google Play Store's extensive marketplace with thousands and thousands of apps that you can use for everything from games to IPTV, to Kodi, YouTube and those apps that you can't miss on a BOX TV.

Unfortunately there is a downside when it comes to applications: although this box has all the necessary hardware to run Netflix HD in conditions, as has already happened with some Mecool boxes it is not possible to install directly from Play Store, it says it is not compatible with the device.

Installing by APK gives, but gets normal Netflix, without FHD. So, if Netflix is the main goal of ordering a box, this will probably not be the most recommended.

Send Xiaomi's Mi TV Box S that runs in perfection.

The Mecool KM9 PRO Classic has Google Cast, which makes it very simple to pass what you're seeing on your Android phone/tablet to the TV through the Box.

The Mecool KM9 PRO Classic connects by Wifi, but unlike others such as the A of Xiaomi can also connect by network cable (RJ45) for an even greater speed.

Mecool KM9 PRO Classic ports

Another advantage of this box is that it has two USB ports, one 2.0 and another 3.0.

If you're watching heavy content (4K) from an external flash drive or disk, plugging into this USB 3.0 port makes all the difference and makes jolt-free playback easy.

It also has a TF memory card slot, expandable up to +64GB. So, if the 16GB of storage in the box is not enough for you, send a card like this along with the box and for a few more euritos you have enough additional space to store files.

The Mecool KM9 PRO Classic with charger for our sockets, HDMI cable, voice control and an instruction manual in English that you will probably never even open because it is really simple to use.
