Meizu 16S presented

Very interesting is the design. The smartphone is composed of a sturdy metal frame and glass for the front and ceramic for the back. The black model has a chic carbon look, while the white model exudes simple elegance. For users who want to have it a bit more gaudy and eye-catching, there is then a blue version with gradient and light effects depending on the light. It is also interesting that the manufacturer renounces the Meizu 16S again on a Notch. Instead, symmetrical and very slim display margins (4.2mm) above and below the display are used. The upper edge offers just enough space for the front camera, sensors and the telephone receiver. In order not to disturb the design on the back, you install a fingerprint sensor in the display. This is supplied by Goodix and captures the imprint on an optical basis through the pixels of the display.
Of course, the Meizu 16S also has an AMOLED display, because the optical detection does not work for an LCD display. This offers the currently popular diagonal of 6.2 inches at a resolution of 2232 x 1080 pixels. Unfortunately, there is also a weakness here, because Meizu continues to rely on panels with low brightness. This reaches a maximum of 430 nits, which is e.g. when taking photos under sunlight is not always enough to see enough details in the camera preview. Other manufacturers have long been on panels with up to 600 Nits in their flagship ships, which eliminate this problem.
For the main camera comes in the Meizu 16S still "only" a dual camera used. The main sensor used by the manufacturer is the 48MP Sony IMX586, which we already know from the Xiaomi Mi 9. The second sensor uses a 3x telephoto lens with f / 2.6 aperture and a 20MP Sony IMX350 sensor. Interestingly, by the way, Meizu combines the IMX586 with optical image stabilization. In the competition of Xiaomi that is missing. One may be curious, what can be made in connection therewith. For selfie fans, of course, was also taken care of. Despite the limited space on the front you miss the Meizu 16S here, a 20MP sensor, using a Samsung 3T2 sensor is used. This should beat particularly well in low light.
Otherwise, the Meizu 16S offers a 3.600mAh battery with 24W mCharge Fast-Charging. For the fact that the Meizu 16S is only 7.6mm thick, that's a decent value. The user must do without wireless charging. However, NFC is also at the start, as well as Bluetooth 5.0, Dual Band AC-WLAN and Dual SIM LTE. In addition, the Meizu 16S offers stereo sound. Here the telephone receiver serves as the second loudspeaker. The 3.5mm connector is no longer on board.
Meizu 16S: Prices & Availability
The Meizu 16S will soon go on sale in China. The prices are staggered as follows:
6 + 128GB: 3198 yuan (424 €)
8 + 128GB: 3498 yuan (464 €)
8 + 256GB: 3998 yuan (530 €)
The smartphone will also appear as a global version and be available in some European countries, including Poland. This is where the smartphone will be released towards the end of the second quarter, which is expected in June. Since apparently also the Chinese model supports volume 20 LTE, there is nothing to prevent an import - if one can live with the China firmware. Since Meizu locks the bootloader of his devices and offers no possibility to unlock, a flashing of the later appearing Global ROM is not possible or only with hurdles.
