New renderings: What the iPhone 2019 might look like

What will Apple's 2019 iPhones look like? Not much different than the 2018 vintage - at least superficially. At least that's what market observers and the rumour mill think. Apple is planning at least three new models - direct successors to iPhone XS, XS Max and XR. The well-known Apple leak specialist OnLeaks, together with the Indian website CashKaro, has now commissioned renderings to show the "iPhone XI" - should Apple actually call it that - on the Indian website. The presentation is based on information and CAD data already circulating in China.
Barely bigger and with triple camera
The dimensions of the "iPhone XI" are somewhat larger than those of the iPhone XS - whereby "Notch" with face ID module and edge is somewhat narrower. However, the new models are directly recognizable by the rear triple camera. This is contained in a cuboid module that has a new glass frame that is particularly smooth. The camera "bump" should thus be less unpleasant for the user.
By the mute switch you shall recognize them
Furthermore, the position of the rear-mounted microphone has been changed and the mute switch has a new shape reminiscent of those of earlier iPads. The Lightning connector remains with the iPhone, USB-C is probably not yet planned by Apple. Meanwhile, the Japanese Apple blog Macotakara has produced models of the new iPhones using a 3D printer. They also show the new camera design and two models with 6.1" and 6.5" displays.
"XRS" with two cameras
There's also new info on the future of iPhone XR. Here it is currently said from China that Apple wants to install two lenses for the first time. Such an "iPhone XRS" would then also have a telephoto lens for the first time and not just a wide-angle version like the current one. Since "XI" and "XI Max" then have three cameras, the distance between the model series would remain the same. The iPhone XR offers users a portrait mode, but this is based purely on computing power, not on the use of a second lens. (bsc)
