Nokia 3.2 VS Nokia 4.2: screen, CPU, camera, connectivity
By Ingrid Wilhelmina 2019-05-22 952 0
Screen
At first glance, the two devices look very similar, but the cheaper Nokia 3.2 is larger and also has the larger screen than the Nokia 4.2. Both use an IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1,520 x 70 pixels HD + in 19: 9 format with a small Teardrop Notch for the front camera, but the Nokia 3.2 is 6.26 inches, the Nokia 4.2 only 5.71 inches. Of course, both come with Android 9.0 Pie in Android One edition.
CPU
For the CPU, the Nokia 4.2 with its Snapdragon 439 Octa-Core processor and Adreno 505 GPU is of course better than the Nokia 3.2 with Snapdragon 429 Octa-Core CPU and Android 504 GPU, but you can not expect miracles, of course. For normal use but just fine. There are both devices 2GB / 16GB or 3GB / 32GB, although it is not clear which version comes to us, and room for a micro-SD card.
Cameras
Even with the cameras, the Nokia 3.2 is worse there. Front was a 5 megapixel wide-angle camera with f / 2.2 aperture installed while the rear sits a 13 megapixel sensor with f / 2.2 aperture and auto-focus. The Nokia 4.2 has front 8 megapixels with f / 2.0 aperture and on the back a dual camera with 13 megapixels, f / 2.2 aperture and PDAF together with a 2 megapixel depth sensor. Both theoretically have a fingerprint on the back, but in the Nokia 3.2, only the model with 3GB / 32GB offer this.
Connectivity
Details are very similar in the two CPUs and both come with Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n, Bluetooth 5.0, LTE Cat4 with 150/50 Mbps, FM radio and a Micro-USB 2.0, USB On-The-Go connection. NFC seems to have only the Nokia 4.2 and not in every country, so let's wait here. Because of the larger display, the Nokia 3.2 then with 4.000mAh synonymous nor the larger battery, the Nokia 4.2 has only 3.000mAh, but which should give the CPU even decent runtimes.
Conclusion
Nokia 3.2 quite a normal user but a lot, especially with a large display and Nokia's usual fast OS updates. If you can live with a smaller display and want better cameras, then use the Nokia 4.2. The CPU power should be ignored in the processors used in the purchase decision.
