Nokia 4.2: price, specs and features of the new HMD smartphone

HMD Global had not come to the MWC empty-handed, unveiling no less than four smartphones. Among these models was the Nokia 4.2, then presented as the most ambitious of the Finnish brand's trio of models under 200 euros. An affordable price range for a smartphone equipped with an HD+ screen with a 5.71 inch notch in 19:9 format. Rather compact (149 x 71.3 x 8.4 mm), the Nokia 4.2 features a Snapdragon 439 with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
A dual sensor is present (13 + 2 megapixels) at the rear while an 8 megapixel module is located at the front. All this is powered by a 3000 mAh battery and the smartphone does not forget the fingerprint reader or the features powered by an AI. The latter are widely highlighted by HMD, which mentions the presence of facial recognition, the Google Assistant via a dedicated button or Adaptive Battery. The latest version of Mountain View's operating system, Android 9.0 Pie, is also available.
An accessible Android One smartphone
The smartphone also joins the Nokia smartphone line-up on Android One, which guarantees monthly security patches for three years and two major operating system updates. This new model will therefore be entitled to Android Q which will be released during the summer and then Android R. The Google Play Protect service is also available to enhance security.
The Nokia 4.2 is available in two colours - Black and Sand Pink - and is available for 189.90 euros. It is available in a single 3GB/32GB version. As a reminder, HMD also launched the Nokia 1 Plus, a smartphone running Android (Go Edition) for less than 100 euros in mid-April.
